#1 Kofi Kingston talks about being squashed by Brock Lesnar

Last year around this time, the WWE Universe was engulfed in KofiMania. The beloved Superstar was on his way to becoming the WWE Champion for the first time - which he did, by defeating Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania 35.

However, while Kingston's dream of becoming WWE Champion came true, it was also broken in a matter of seconds by Brock Lesnar on the first episode of SmackDown on FOX.

The Beast Incarnate managed to defeat Kofi Kingston within seconds to become a 5-time WWE Champion. Here is what Kofi Kingston had to say about his 'squash' at the hands of Lesnar speaking to Sports Illustrated:

When I found out that it was going to end the way that it did, I had a different version. But at the end of the day, we are charged with going out and playing the role, and that’s really all we can do. I was so blessed to have had the WWE Championship.

He also mentioned that the way everything came about was serendipitous, and he is happy to have become the Champion.
