4-time Champion was told to not work with John Cena

Big Show has revealed that he was warned against working with John Cena way back in 2004. The former Champion stated that as many as eight backstage personalities told him to not work with Cena at WrestleMania 20 as he was 'just a flash in the pan'.

Despite the constant talk of not going ahead of with the match, Big Show put over Cena at the Grandest Stage of Them All. The leader of Cenation defeated the World's Largest Athlete and won the United States Championship.

“That day I had about eight little private meetings where all these guys were telling me why I shouldn’t work with this kid because he’s a flash in the pan, he’s this, he’s that, and I’m like, ‘No, I think there’s something more to the guy.’ And years later now those same people that questioned him line up to shake his hand, tell him how amazing he is.”

Big Show went on to joke that he had a nose for talent.
