WWE Rumors: Another former World Champion to join AEW and make a surprise debut
AEW has made all the right noise leading up to the debut of their weekly wrestling show called 'Dynamite' on TNT this week. The company has signed a great blend of young up and comers along with veterans, who have already made a major name for themselves.
All Elite Wrestling's biggest acquisitions are undoubtedly former WWE Champions Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley. However, reports from Sports Illustrated have stated that another former WWE World Champion - Jack Swagger - may soon be making his way to the Elite promotion.
Here is what Sports Illustrated is stating regarding a possible debut for Swagger in AEW:
In other wrestling news, a potential surprise for AEW’s premiere on TNT, Sports Illustrated has learned, is Jake Hager, better known from his WWE run as Jack Swagger. An ardent Trump supporter and legitimate big guy, Hager would fit in nicely as a villain for the promotion. He would also add depth to the card, and his work in Bellator MMA could have crossover appeal for AEW
Why is Jack Swagger a major name?
Apart from being a former World Heavyweight Champion and ECW Champion in WWE, Swagger, whose real name is Jack Hager, has also won the Lucha Underground Championship.
Hager is also a prominent figure in the MMA world and fights for the Bellator promotion, where he competes in the heavyweight division.
The 37-year-old would be a fantastic get for AEW, as he is the perfect blend of talent and experience. Not only will Hager be able to help AEW's younger stars get over, but will also help in getting more eyeballs, as the former 'Real American' has fans across the worlds of pro-wrestling and MMA.
