WWE Rumors: Bobby Roode's theme song was originally written for Nakamura

Is it possible to imagine either man without his iconic theme?

What’s the story?

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, ‘Glorious Domination’, the theme song for Bobby Roode was originally written for another NXT Superstar- Shinsuke Nakamura. When Nakamura first heard the song, he felt that it did not really fit his character, and therefore it was offered to Bobby Roode.

In case you didn't know...

Nakamura's theme song is an integral part of his entrance and captures both his Japanese heritage and his inherent flamboyance in its unforgettable and iconic tune. It is also the most played theme song on the WWEMusic Account on Youtube, with well over 10 million views. Check out the appropriately titled song- ‘Rising Sun' below.

‘Glorious Domination’ is a very popular theme song too and ranks second in terms of viewership. It has well over 5 million views, right now.

The heart of the matter

The man in charge of NXT, Triple H had mentioned during an NXT Conference Call a few months ago that ‘Glorious Domination’ had been written for another Superstar before Bobby Roode adopted it. Wrestling Observer revealed that it was Shinsuke Nakamura in their latest edition.

Nakamura is very particular about his character, The Observer stated, and felt that ‘Glorious Domination’ did not really fit his character. He was hands-on with the creation of ‘Rising Sun’, the theme we have linked above, and ‘Glorious Domination’ was then saved for Bobby Roode.

What’s next?

Shinsuke Nakamura is already a part of the main roster and we have no doubt that Bobby Roode will follow in under a year. While the main roster already hums Nakamura’s theme song, we’re certain they’ll sing along with Bobby Roode’s entrance every single time.

Author’s take

All's well that ends well. Shinsuke Nakamura and his theme song are inseparable. Much like ‘The Glorious’ Bobby Roode and his legendary theme song too. It all worked out for the best, in the long run.
