WWE Rumors: Dean Ambrose new favorite to win Money In The Bank

Move over, Owens

It was reported a few weeks ago that Kevin Owens was tipped to claim the hallowed Money In The Bank briefcase. The Prizefighter was riding high on a wave of praise from none other than Vince McMahon himself.

As with everything in the WWE, that plan seems likely to change. Cagesideseats.com reports that another former Intercontinental Champion, Dean Ambrose, may have tipped the scales, just a couple of days from the event.

Kevin Owens is still in contention, but considering the promise a feud between the three former brothers-in-arms holds, Ambrose winning won’t surprise many but will nonetheless, leave them enraptured.

The Lunatic Fringe has been flitting from feud to feud since being one of the last two men in this year’s Royal Rumble. He did his best to create a WrestleMania worthy of Brock Lesnar, though the Beast really didn’t need to be put over.

Ambrose and Jericho created one of the best matches in Extreme Rules history when they were both locked together in the first Asylum match in WWE history. Rollins’ return has buffeted the WWE World Heavyweight Championship picture, but it’s still not main event material. Ambrose’s insertion into the picture could be the shot-in-the-arm it so badly needs.
