WWE Rumors: Dean Ambrose expected to retain WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Battleground

Aaaaaaand stiilllll!!!!

Dean Ambrose’s title win at Money In The Bank is probably every fan’s moment of the year so far, but his booking ever since hasn’t really looked that of the WWE’s typical franchise player. The Lunatic Fringe has no doubt been at his entertaining best, but has his in-ring dominance been right up there at Championship level?

A lot of WWE officials might not believe so. Which is why Dean Ambrose was supposed to drop the championship at Battleground. But Roman Reigns’ suspension may have forced a reformulation of those plans, according to the Wrestling Observer.

Ambrose went into Money In The Bank ladder match as the favorite and created the record for the quickest cash-in of the contract at just under an hour. There were quite a few reports that Rollins winning the title was a last minute decision and more still that Reigns’ Wellness Policy violation was discovered well in advance. The decision to suspend him was stayed until after the PPV.

It is interesting to note that Reigns is still advertised to be a part of the triple threat match for the WWE Championship at Battleground. His suspension ends on July 21st, three days before Battleground. Amphetamines are rumored to be the substance he tested positive for.

What makes Sting special? His first AEW opponent opens up RIGHT HERE.
