What's the story?

Dolph Ziggler has been missing from RAW for a few weeks now. He was last seen in a cage match against his former ally, Drew McIntyre, a match that he lost!

Mike Johnson of PWInsider Elite recently gave us some insight into Dolph Ziggler's WWE future. Credit for the quote goes to Ringside News.

In case you didn't know...

Ziggler has been one of the cornerstones of WWE through his lengthy career. While there have been ups and downs along the way, Ziggler has always been close to the top spot at most times in his career.

Ziggler's most recent run had him teaming up with Drew McIntyre and even capturing the RAW Tag Team Championships during this run. He was even in a faction called the Dogs of War, that also included McIntyre and Braun Strowman. Ziggler and McIntyre came to odds recently and settled the score inside a steel cage.

The heart of the matter

According to Mike Johnson, Ziggler has been active at WWE Live Events. But he has not been on TV in a while:

Dolph Ziggler worked the house shows over the weekend and as we’ve talked about there are rumors around certain circles in WWE saying that on January 31st he’ll be done. Ziggler was not at RAW last night. I was told he was never scheduled to be there. He’s only scheduled for the house shows so he worked the house shows on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and he went home while the rest of the crew went to RAW. So Dolph was not there.

But does this mean that Dolph Ziggler could show up at the Royal Rumble? Johnson believes that he most certainly could:

People say ‘Well is it possible that Dolph Ziggler will be at the Royal Rumble?’ Of course, it’s possible, he lives in Phoenix so we’ll see if he actually appears at the pay-per-view or not.

What's next?

That's the question, isn't it? Will Ziggler continue to remain in and work for WWE in the near future? Or will he ply his trade in another professional wrestling promotion?
