WWE Rumors: More details about the death of Jim Ross' wife, Jan, have come to light

Jan Ross sadly passed away last month

What’s the story?

As reported by TMZ Sports, the cause of death for Jim Ross’ wife Jan has now been revealed. Jan passed away after two days of being on life support following an accident whilst riding her Vespa last month.

In case you didn’t know...

Jim Ross is one of the greatest commentators in the history of professional wrestling, with his many years in WWE providing fans with memories that will last a lifetime. He married his wife, Jan, back in 1993 with the two scheduled to travel to WrestleMania 33 week in Orlando. Jim, being the professional that he is, still made all his commitments during the festivities which included calling The Undertaker’s retirement match.

The heart of the matter

TMZ Sports are reporting that the official cause of death was a traumatic brain injury, however, a toxicology report is still pending. The incident has been ruled an accident, but the crash remains under investigation. The 55-year-old Jan was struck by a 17-year-old male from behind, at which point both of the vehicles in question caught fire.

What’s next?

With the situation still being under investigation, more details may be released at a later date – but at this stage, it seems as if the majority of questions have been answered. Following his cameo during the main event of WrestleMania 33, we sincerely hope that WWE continues to feature JR at big events as that’s what this legendary figure deserves.

Author’s take

Our hearts still ache for Jim, and we can’t imagine how he’s even beginning to deal with everything that’s happened over the course of the last month. He’s the ultimate professional and his appearances in Orlando represented that, and we have the utmost respect for how he’s handling his grief. From everyone here at Sportskeeda, we love you JR.
