What's the story?

As per the Observer (via Cagesideseats.com), there has been talk of doing a Kurt Angle retirement match at Wrestlemania 35.

In case you didn't know...

Kurt Angle returned to WWE in 2017 when he got inducted into Hall of Fame, class of 2017. Angle had been away from WWE for about 11 years and finally made his in-ring return at the TLC PPV in 2017 when teamed up with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins to face The Miz, Braun Strowman, Kane, Cesaro, and Sheamus.

Kurt Angle also portrayed the on-screen General Manager of RAW up until he was "suspended" by Stephanie McMahon who made Baron Corbin the interim RAW GM.

Last year at Wrestlemania, Angle teamed with Ronda Rousey in a winning effort against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, which was also Rousey's debut match for WWE.

The heart of the matter

While it is unclear at this point who Angle will be facing at Wrestlemania 35, it looks like this will be the last match of the Olympic Gold Medalist in WWE. And hopefully, WWE picks someone who truly deserves a rub from one of the greatest and it is not just another filler match with Baron Corbin.

Kurt Angle is currently feuding with Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin, so it seems highly likely that WWE picks McIntyre to end Kurt Angle's storied career.

What's next?

Wrestlemania 35 is set to take place on April 7, 2019 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The only matches finalized for now are Seth Rollins vs Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship and Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte Flair for the RAW Women's Championship.

Do you think it is the right time for Kurt Angle to retire? If so, which Superstar would you like to see retire him? Tell us in the comments!
