WWE Rumors: Shinsuke Nakamura was brought to SmackDown to replace John Cena

Will The King Of Strong Style find his spot in the main event scene of SmackDown Live

What’s the story?

According to Cageside Seats, Shinsuke Nakamura was brought up to SmackDown Live from NXT in order to take John Cena’s place while he is away. This will make Nakamura one of the leading babyfaces on the blue brand.

In case you didn’t know...

John Cena has transitioned into a more part-time role since late 2015. As a result, he only shows up on SmackDown Live once in a few months. There is no doubt that this has helped raise his stock and he is moving into “special attraction” territory.

He has been busier due to the increasing number of projects and offers he has been getting in Hollywood. Shinsuke Nakamura made his SmackDown Live debut on the first episode after WrestleMania, interrupting The Miz with an emphatic entrance:

The heart of the matter

Shinsuke Nakamura serves as a perfect replacement for John Cena, but he can achieve even more if given the chance and the creative freedom to do so. Without a doubt, the WWE Universe will get behind The King Of Strong Style sheerly due to the unmatched level of charisma that he brings to the table.

It is good to see that WWE has immense faith in Nakamura right off the bat despite the fact that his promo skills in English are not the strongest. Regardless, the cream always rises to the top, and Nakamura may be no exception to this rule.

While it is clear that the “hardcore” fan base will get behind Nakamura instantly, it will be interesting to see if he can win over the casual fans the way AJ Styles did. With AJ Styles being rumoured to go to RAW, there is no better time for Nakamura come in.

What’s next?

The King Of Strong Style looks like he will now start a feud with The Miz, who he interrupted in his debut.

Author’s take

It is great to know that Nakamura is succeeding in WWE. He may not have a lot of years left in him, but for the time that he is there, he will make a huge impact. In Japan, Nakamura was always the #3 star, behind Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada.

He came to the United States to become an international superstar, and he is making big waves. SmackDown Live is the perfect place for Nakamura, and there is a high chance that we could see him become world champion in the next year or two.
