WWE Rumors: Summer Rae was in the city where Raw was held

Is Summer coming back?

Summer Rae was in California’s capital

What’s the story?

WWE Superstar Summer Rae was in Sacramento, California last night which was the location of Monday Night Raw. As we now know, Rae wasn’t used during the show, but it’s possible that she’ll be returning to WWE television over the next few weeks.

In case you didn’t know...

Summer Rae hasn’t appeared on WWE television for months on end due to a number of injuries. She was drafted to Monday Night Raw during the 2016 WWE Draft; however, she has not been able to make any kind of impact as of this point. Prior to this, her most notable work on the main roster was probably her involvement in the Rusev/Lana/Ziggler feud.

The Heart of the matter

The report suggests that despite not being used on Raw, the belief backstage is that Summer will be back on WWE television soon. It’s not yet known why she was in Sacramento, but it’s possible that she was having a meeting regarding how she is going to be booked upon returning to in-ring action. Then again, she may have just been backstage to see some of her friends on the red brand.

What’s next?

It seems as if Summer’s return to the main roster is imminent, and it may be done in time for the next Raw exclusive pay per view. Given the depth of talent on the women’s roster, it’s not yet known what Rae’s position on the show will be, with the most likely option being a valet if her past work is anything to go by.

Author’s take

Summer has always been an extremely underrated performer both on the mic and in the ring, so it’s great to see that she’s on the verge of returning to the limelight. If WWE gives her one last chance to shine in a new gimmick, then she could do wonders for the product, especially if they portray her as the bitchy heel. After all, Total Divas has proven to us that she can pull it off pretty well.
