WWE Rumors: Possible #1 contender's match for Universal Championship planned for Raw tonight

Who will face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship next?

We all know that Brock Lesnar’s contract only calls for him to work a limited number of dates. It has been reported that Brock Lesnar would return to the WWE to defend his Universal Championship at WWE Great Balls of Fire in July, but there may have been an exception made to that.

It is now believed that tonight’s winner on Raw could get the opportunity to face Brock Lesnar for his WWE Universal Championship at WWE Extreme Rules.

PWInsider.com has reported that there may be a #1 Contender’s Match for the WWE Universal Championship tonight. As per the report, the match will involve Finn Balor, Seth Rollins, and The Miz.

Finn Balor was the inaugural Universal Champion and had to relinquish that title when he injured his shoulder at SummerSlam against Seth Rollins.

Rollins spent the better part of the rest of 2016 chasing the Universal Championship in multiple matches with the new champion, Kevin Owens. Last night on the WWE Payback pre-show, The Miz hosted Miz TV with Finn Balor. That segment ended with Balor beating up The Miz.

You have to wonder what this means for Braun Strowman? Is this actually going to determine the next Number One Contender, or will he interfere and destroy the three participants. As we’ve learned in the past, plans constantly change in WWE, so Raw will be very interesting tonight.
