What's the story?Lars Sullivan was expected to make his main roster debut this week during dark matches on Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live. However these matches didn't happen because he allegedly went home after suffering anxiety attacks. Now there are differing reports about Sullivan's WWE status. In case you didn't know...Last month, on his podcast, Brad Shepard discussed the fact that WWE had big plans for Lars Sullivan following his eventual main roster call-up with a match against John Cena penciled in for WrestleMania. This was then reported by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.Very interesting story in today’s “Dave Digest”... Money Meltz says as of this week, John Cena vs Lars Sullivan is planned for WrestleMania. Sullivan was scheduled to work dark matches at TV both Mon & Tue. Neither happened as Lars went home due to anxiety attacks. Match now TBD.— WrestleVotes (@WrestleVotes) January 11, 2019As you can see Sullivan was supposed to debut on the main roster and presumably begin his programme towards that Cena match on 'The Grandest Stage of Them All' but mental illness seems to have postponed plans for now.Interestingly, WrestleVotes updated the story by reporting that Sullivan wasn't at the arena at all, and instead didn't arrive for his scheduled appearances as a consequence of his anxiety attacks.Following up on this story with new details;, source tells us Lars Sullivan did not go home from TV this week, he was never in either Orlando or Jacksonville. Was scheduled to be, and just didn’t arrive. No word on what the reaction was just yet. https://t.co/07WLmvjWHt— WrestleVotes (@WrestleVotes) January 12, 2019The heart of the matterNo-showing a scheduled appearance is just about the worst thing you can do as a WWE Superstar, so there's potential for this to have a negative effect on Sullivan's career, as Twitter user @atomantpr who 'Sometimes [gives] out Wrestling News from [his] old sources (aka friends of the business)'Wwe has no knowledge of any mental disorder or condition for him so they might just let him go and move on. Very disappointing news after all this build and a year invested in the guy for him to lay an egg and fold.— Atom Ant (@atomantpr) January 12, 2019However, Dave Meltzer noted in the aforementioned Wrestling Observer Newsletter report that WWE had become much more sensitive to mental health issues after Mauro Ranallo made his bipolar disorder public and are being supporting and understanding towards Sullivan. What's next?Without an official statement from WWE or Lars Sullivan I think we'll have to chalk everything from Brad Shepard to Dave Meltzer to speculation on Twitter as merely that - speculation.Time will tell if Sullivan does debut on the main roster, make an impact in the Royal Rumble and face John Cena at WrestleManiaAre you excited to see Lars Sullivan debut on the main roster?
