Getting over with the fans and maintaining a top spot on the roster in a short period is certainly not easiest of things to do in the WWE.

Humberto Carillo may have learned it the hard way.

As revealed by Bryan Alvarez during the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Live, Vince McMahon could be done pushing the Hispanic Superstar for the time being.

Alvarez stated that Carrilo will suffer the same fate as Cedric Alexander. He added that Carrilo was given a few weeks, but as Vince McMahon didn't see him getting over, the big push may have come to an abrupt end.

Here's what Alvarez said on WOL:

"Vince is done with Humberto Carillo for the time being. He’s given him the Cedric Alexander, where you’re still going to see him on TV, I’m sure he’s going to win here and there but like it’s exactly like Cedric Alexander. He got a few weeks, Vince thought he wasn’t getting over and so, he’s done with that big push."

Humberto Carrilo was originally slated to take on AJ Styles in a United States Championship match on the RAW after Survivor Series.

However, the match had to be called off after Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson unleashed an attack on the young RAW Superstar while he was making his entrance.

Rey Mysterio, Ricochet, Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre came out after the attack and staked their claims at getting a shot to capture Styles' title.

A fatal 4-Way was booked and Rey Mysterio emerged as the winner, who then went on to dethrone the Phenomenal One to become the new United States Champion.

The US title match between Styles and Mysterio was one of the biggest highlights of an otherwise confusing night.

As for Humberto Carrilo, we'll have to wait and watch what the WWE has in store for the talented 24-year-old Superstar.
