From the WWE Rumor Mill: WWE interested in two former Impact Wrestling stars

Are Jade and Marti Belle on the way to WWE?

What’s the story?

As reported by PWInsider Elite, WWE is supposedly interested in acquiring the services of former TNA stars Jade and Marti Belle for the upcoming WWE Women’s Tournament this summer.

In case you didn’t know...

Jade and Belle were actually in a stable together back in Impact Wrestling called The Dollhouse alongside Taryn Terrell. Within the last few months, however, the duo have both been deemed surplus to requirements and have left the company.

The heart of the matter

The report does indeed suggest that WWE is heavily interested in the pair, with filming for the planned tournament expected to go ahead in the summer much like the Cruiserweight Classic last year. Alongside Belle and Jade, there are also several SHIMMER athletes that are being scouted for the competition, however, nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

What’s next?

Given that the tournament will likely have between 16 and 32 competitors, we can expect to hear many more names being thrown around in the weeks and months to come. Obviously, there’s no guarantee that these two will be selected, but given their notability and star power from their days in TNA, we’d say they’re a relatively safe bet at this stage.

Author’s take

Jade and Marti both have bundles of potential when it comes to their in-ring careers, and it’d be great to see them show the world what they can do on a stage like the WWE Women’s Tournament. There’s always the possibility that they won’t get to show much in the ways of their character development, but that’ll likely come in time.
