It's a turbulent time for everyone associated with WWE SmackDown - from the performers to the backstage staff to the audience watching at home. With the current string of releases and storylines that had to be discarded as a result, fans have many questions about the future. Especially with WWE going live in the near future.

Moreover, with the third hour of RAW hitting poor numbers this week, it is imperative for WWE SmackDown to put on a strong show. Surprises will certainly help in this regard because as many of you know, the product has become a tad predictable.

Here are five surprises that may happen on WWE SmackDown, to reinforce the notion that this is a company that is still dialed into the pulse of the audience. Let us reiterate that this is just fun fantasy booking, and not inside news. If you so desire, you may share your own surprises in the comments section below.

#5 Jey Uso attacks Jimmy Uso during the big WWE SmackDown tag team match

The WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships are on the line in the biggest match of The Usos' career. But are they on the same page, especially considering Jey Uso and Roman Reigns seem to have an agenda of their own? Could Jey turn on Jimmy Uso in this titanic bout?

If this is the direction that the WWE SmackDown creative staff wants to go in, it does make a lot of sense. It could lead to a brand new feud, that has been elaborated upon in the following page.

If you had the WWE SmackDown creative reins, would you keep The Usos together or would you have them working against each other? Which possibility makes more sense to you?

#4 A brand new heel stable is formed on WWE SmackDown

Rick Boogs and Shinsuke Nakamura are a WWE SmackDown powerhouse duo and it's not always the best-case scenario when the babyfaces outnumber the heels.

Since Chad Gable and Otis are at odds with Nakamura, just like King Corbin is, could a new heel faction be formed on WWE SmackDown? Corbin hasn't been the same since the departure of The Knights of the Lone Wolf, and this alliance could elevate all the men involved in this particular feud.

#3 Roman Reigns vs. Jimmy Uso becomes the next big Universal Championship feud

Roman Reigns put Jey Uso on the map as a main-eventer following their feud. Jimmy Uso and The Tribal Chief could tear it up inside Hell in a Cell in a similar manner. The Universal Championship could be on the line as well.

If the first surprise with The Usos plays out as described on WWE SmackDown, chances are that Jimmy Uso and Roman Reigns will enter into a heated feud that could stretch out for months. Could Jimmy become a future WWE Universal Champion someday?

#2 Liv Morgan and Carmella form an alliance

The Riott Squad was a WWE SmackDown mainstay which we shall be blessed with no more, thanks to the release of Ruby Riott. One has to wonder how Liv Morgan will be packaged next.

Chances are that because of their similar look, the WWE SmackDown creative staff may pair Carmella with Morgan. Natalya and Tamina will need fresh opponents, and they fit the bill perfectly. It could be an exciting new start.

#1 Big E and Seth Rollins start the next big WWE SmackDown feud

And before we conclude this article, do take a minute to check out the interview linked above. Seth Rollins took the time to speak exclusively to Sportskeeda Wrestling about a pretty cool AJ Styles story.

We were supposedly going to get a Big E vs. Aleister Black feud on WWE SmackDown but obviously, because of Black's release, those plans were nixed. It makes sense for Big E to feud with a top star going forward, and nobody fits the bill better than Seth Rollins.
