WWE SmackDown - Best and worst- Major 'injury' going into TLC, The most cringe-worthy segment of 2020?

Roman Reigns is the most believable World Champion in wrestling
Roman Reigns is the most believable World Champion in wrestling

Even though WWE SmackDown is far from a perfect show, it is amazing how much of a difference one less hour makes, in terms of engaging the viewer.

This week's episode of WWE SmackDown was a fun show, and there was certainly a lot of good, but there were one or two things that did not really sit well with fans either.

Be sure to rate this show on a scale of 1-10 in the comments, and do let us know if this week's episode did anything to get you hyped for the pay-per-view airing this weekend.

#1 Best: Roman Reigns destroys Kevin Owens in the episode of WWE SmackDown before TLC 2020

There's just something different about every segment that Roman Reigns has been on since he's turned heel and this week's episode of WWE SmackDown was no different. Genuinely, the way in which Kevin Owens was booked, where he was blindsided for most of the episode, destroyed in the main event segment, and yet he sat up to end WWE SmackDown, made him very cool in the eyes of most fans.

The way in which Jey Uso is being used too, almost like a sidekick thug of Roman Reigns, where he takes down Kevin Owens at his behest is also something to marvel at. This is a man who had a steel chair cracked across his back on WWE SmackDown and yet, continues to do his cousin's dirty work.

The setup is such that one may believe that Kevin Owens could have a slim chance of emerging victorious in the upcoming WWE Universal Championship match at WWE TLC 2020.

Could someone return to even the odds for Kevin Owens against Roman Reigns, when the big match goes down this weekend?

#1 Worst: How bad was that awful 'Superstars vs. 2020' video that aired on WWE SmackDown this week?

WWE SmackDown Superstar Roman Reigns feels special because he is real, he is believable, he is compelling, and he behaves as a bully would. Even though WWE SmackDown is a show geared towards family entertainment, Roman Reigns is someone that belongs in the same league as the rest of TV's best villains, be it Negan or even Homelander.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the awful WWE Superstars vs. 2020 video package that aired on WWE SmackDown, which, to be honest, took Drew McIntyre down a few notches in just about everyone's eyes.

WWE SmackDown is a schizophrenic show, in the sense that while advertisements like these are clearly geared towards kids, you also have segments for more mature audiences.

It's when you merge the two worlds, where someone from the believable world like Drew McIntyre is thrust into a segment such as this, that it diminishes them in the eyes of the millions watching at home.

#2 Best: Big E interrupts Sami Zayn on WWE SmackDown and gives himself an award

Sami Zayn and Big E had a comedic segment on this week's edition of WWE SmackDown, but it was the good kind of comedy, truth be told. Sami Zayn parodied the Slammy Awards with the Sami Awards and began conferring every single award, unsurprisingly, to himself. Thankfully, Big E showed up to interrupt the WWE SmackDown segment, and the rest is entertainment gold.

While no match has been made official yet, one has to assume that the Intercontinental Championship will be defended at TLC or may be in a subsequent edition of WWE SmackDown, once TLC is done and dusted.

Both men, Sami Zayn and Big E are highly entertaining and because of the amount of time that they have spent in the business, know what to do, and when to do it. In fact, it's almost a toss-up between whether fans want to see the entertaining Sami Zayn lose the WWE Intercontinental Championship or their beloved Big E win the Championship, as it currently stands.

#2 Worst: WWE SmackDown star Liv Morgan turns into R-Truth this week

Something about the whole Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott vs. Billie Kay and her mystery partner segment on WWE SmackDown was off from the word go, where Morgan's picks for Kay's mystery partner were so weird and strange, that one had to wonder if WWE was repackaging her into the female R-Truth.

No offense to Billie Kay, who has been absolutely golden in her limited role on WWE SmackDown thus far, but do we need another mystery partner storyline when we'll be going into TLC this weekend, with the whole Asuka 'mystery partner' storyline?

And as for Tamina, she needs a reboot of some kind, because right now, she has no gimmick to speak of, in her present WWE SmackDown avatar. We knew the outcome of the match from the moment that she stepped out to compete.

And the main question that exists here is why were the IIconics split up if the intention was to put both Peyton Royce and Billie Kay in random tag teams?

#3 Best/Worst: Possible mistake on the WWE SmackDown before TLC?

Bayley and Bianca Belair had a very compelling match on WWE SmackDown this week and under ordinary circumstances, Bayley winning the contest wouldn't have been a bad thing, really.

However, the mystique of Bianca Belair was severely diminished with her loss, and even though Bayley scored the win by bending the rules, it doesn't make Belair look as strong as she did, going into the said match.

Especially if you factor in the fact that Natalya, who never wins, defeated Bayley on WWE SmackDown not very long ago. Had that match not happened, maybe this decision wouldn't have been as poor.

However, it was still the best match this week on WWE SmackDown and one has to wonder where the participants of the match will go from here.
