Rey and Dominik Mysterio made history after winning the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships as they became the first father-son duo to hold the titles in the promotion’s history. Before their title quest, The Mysterios were involved in a brutal feud with The Alpha Academy. Otis and Chad Gable have been impressive since their heel turn, and this feud was quite interesting.

Otis focused mainly on Rey Mysterio, and they delivered several engaging matches on WWE SmackDown. It would be the perfect time to restart the rivalry between The Mysterios and The Alpha Academy, as they can easily pick up from where they left off. Otis and Gable don’t necessarily need to take the titles from The Mysterios for this angle to be successful.

An intense feud followed by a successful title defense will help add more credibility to The Mysterios’ current title reign. It will also elevate The Alpha Academy’s position on the current WWE SmackDown roster. In the meantime, the creative team will have enough time to identify the other emerging teams in the division.
