WWE SmackDown Results: March 22, 2013

SmackDown began with Miz TV, featuring Randy Orton and Sheamus. The Miz asked them about the possibility of Big Show being their partner against the Shield. Big Show came out and the trio were bickering among themselves. Booker T came out and said that he wanted to know whether the three can co-exist. He said that they will be involved in a 6-man tag-team main event later on in the show.

Match 1: Mark Henry squashed Zack Ryder in a singles match. After the end of the match, Henry continued to assault Ryder with World’s strongest slams. This prompted Ryback to come out. Ryback delivered a meat-hook clothesline to send Henry out of the ring.

Match 2: Dolph Ziggler defeated Kofi Kingston in a singles match. Ziggler got the pin-fall victory after hitting the zig-zag on Kofi.

Match 3: Jack Swagger defeated Chris Jericho once again. Chris Jericho was distracted by Fandango’s entrance and fell to the Swagger Bomb. Then, Jericho was attacked by Fandango, who seemed distraught by the way Jericho made fun of his name on RAW.

Match 4: The tag-team match between Team Rhodes Scholars and Brodus Clay and Tensai ended in a no contest. The Bellas and the funkadactyls were involved in a brawl outside the ring which resulted in the match being discontinued.

Match 5: The Miz defeated Antonio Cesaro in a singles match via submission.

Match 6: The team of Big Show, Randy Orton and Sheamus defeated 3MB consisting of Heath Slater, Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre in a 6-man tag-team match. After the match, Big Show and Sheamus were arguing with each other when the Shield came out. However, they left soon after as the trio of Orton, Sheamus and Big Show showed solidarity that they were ready to handle the Shield as a team.
