Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman will wrestle on WWE SmackDown

The season premiere of every TV show is a pretty momentous affair and this week, WWE SmackDown kicks off a new season with what should be a very stacked show indeed. And there's no better way to indicate that WWE SmackDown means business than with a whole bunch of surprises that could play out during the course of the special evening.

What are some of the surprises that you'd like to see on WWE SmackDown this Friday night? Be sure to list them in the comments section below and also let us know if you believe that WWE SmackDown won this edition of the WWE 2020 Draft.

So, here are the surprises that may potentially happen.

#5 Rikishi shows up on WWE SmackDown to confront Roman Reigns

The feud between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso has been incredibly personal and the definite highlight of the WWE SmackDown brand. Many have spoken about it on social media, including Rikishi. And there's every chance in the world that he could be involved in the build to Hell in a Cell by showing up on the season premiere of WWE SmackDown.

Everyone, Rikishi included, remembers a very different Roman Reigns from the one we see on our television screens these days and it may make all the sense in the world for him to confront Reigns and try and talk him out of it before the Hell in a Cell match. Rikishi could say that Paul Heyman has been a bad influence on the WWE Universal Champion, and Roman Reigns could in turn retaliate by destroying the legend on WWE SmackDown. It could definitely intensify things before Hell in a Cell comes around and become a pretty big talking point for WWE SmackDown.

#4 Daniel Bryan confronts Sami Zayn on his WWE SmackDown return

Daniel Bryan could potentially return to WWE SmackDown this week, and if and when he does, it's guaranteed to be a big deal because you just don't slot Daniel Bryan low down the card, under any circumstances. In fact, Sami Zayn and Daniel Bryan could wage wars over the Intercontinental Championship on WWE SmackDown and make the title seem prestigious once more.

The very fact that the Intercontinental Champion was picked so very low in the draft could be cause for Sami Zayn to speak out in his typical annoying manner, heralding the return of Daniel Bryan to WWE SmackDown this week. Daniel Bryan has been away for a long time from the WWE SmackDown brand and he will need a strong feud to sink his teeth into for when he returns, and at this point in time, there is probably nobody better suited for him to clash with than Sami Zayn. Both men have come up through the independent circuit and are incredible workers.

#3 Big E turns heel on the rest of the New Day in their final WWE SmackDown appearance together

The WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions, The New Day, were drafted to RAW, where they became the RAW Tag Team Champions as they swapped Championships with the Street Profits and then now, as RAW Tag Team Champions, they are back on WWE SmackDown once more. In their final WWE SmackDown appearance together, Big E will team up with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods to take on Cesaro, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Sheamus in a very big six-man tag team match.

And so, in a fit of rage, could we see Big E turn on his brothers to start a storyline that can potentially stretch all the way until 2021? The New Day could officially split up with Big E turning on Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods during their final stand on WWE SmackDown, following a big victory or defeat. And a heel Big E could then rise up the ranks battling against the likes of Rey Mysterio and Dominik who could put him over.

#2 Zelina Vega turns babyface after her brush with Alexa Bliss during her very first WWE SmackDown appearance

Everyone that comes into contact with The Fiend changes and this could be true for Zelina Vega as well, who came into contact with Alexa Bliss, who seems to share all of The Fiend's powers. So, now, she's been drafted into the WWE SmackDown brand, and she already seems to be going for Bayley and her WWE SmackDown Women's Championship. The two of them had a brief interaction on social media shortly after she was drafted, and it won't be surprising if Vega is in contention for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship shortly.

And so everything lines up. Zelina Vega will most likely be a babyface on the WWE SmackDown brand. In fact, she could even become an ally to Sasha Banks as Bayley's former friend wages war against the current Champion.

In fact, Billie Kay could team up with Bayley now that she's on WWE SmackDown, because we know that Vince McMahon likes corny names that rhyme like Billie and Bayley.

#1 Keith Lee costs Braun Strowman a chance to become WWE Universal Champion, this week on WWE SmackDown

Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns will be the featured match on the season premiere episode of WWE SmackDown following the most recent edition of the WWE Draft, where the WWE Universal Championship will be on the line in a heated contest. There is absolutely no way at all that Roman Reigns is losing the WWE Universal Championship at this point in time but neither can WWE afford to make Braun Strowman, one of the top stars on RAW look weak during a WWE SmackDown appearance.

One needs to remember that Braun Strowman will be in yet another big match on WWE RAW and to promote that contest, the company could have Keith Lee show up and cost Braun Strowman a chance to become the WWE Universal Champion. In this way, Roman Reigns remains the face of WWE SmackDown and well, Braun Strowman doesn't look weak in defeat either.
