#1 AJ Styles missed The Phenomenal Forearm

One of the most anticipated showdowns on the card for this year's SummerSlam saw AJ Styles defend his United States Championship against Ricochet with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson watching on from ringside.

Styles and Ricochet put on a fantastic show with the former NXT star wearing Nightwing gear to give him an extra boost. Sadly this wasn't enough to give him the edge against Styles, who came into the match with a number of advantages.

Styles did slip up once though since the United States Champion was looking to deliver a Phenomenal Forearm to Ricochet but he lost his footing as he jumped over the top rope and Ricochet was then forced to catch him to avoid further damage.

It was a match that had everything that was expected and ended when Ricochet delivered a Phoenix Splash onto the shoulders of AJ Styles, only for the Champion to reverse it into the Styles Clash to retain his Championship. Despite the fact that it was one of the matches of the night, the botch will probably be one of the most memorable moments.
