Randy Orton battled Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship last night at SummerSlam. After dodging a Claymore it was a backslide that allowed The Scottish star to retain his title and deny The Viper his 14th World Championship.

WWE has no plans for these former AEW wrestlers? Here's why!

While Orton was defeated at last night's show, he was still able to come out with some impressive records. The former 13-time World Champion was competing in his 15th SummerSlam match, a record that is only bettered by The Undertaker, who has only been part of 16 SummerSlam events.

This means that Randy Orton could equal The Deadman's appearance record next year or better it if he sticks around for another two years. Interestingly, this isn't the only noteworthy stat coming out of SummerSlam for Orton.

SummerSlam was also Orton's ninth opportunity at a Championship at the event. Further, every Championship match that Orton has had at The Biggest Party of the Summer — either as the defending Champion or as a challenger — have all been surrounding the World Championship.
