AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe - WWE Championship match

In this WWE Event Joe entered first. Styles removed his jacket and threw down his title. He ran towards Joe and they didn't even wait to start. Styles got the better of Joe and they entered the ring where the referee rang the bell for the start.

Styles got outmatched in a striking contest and Joe was in control, only for a second. The two had a back and forth. Joe threw Styles towards the commentators but Styles landed on his feet and jumped back. He ran behind Joe in the ring and started the assault. He struck him but Joe hit him with two loud strikes to the chest that sounded painful.

He then charged and ran into Styles who hit the mat outside with a loud thud. Joe took a second and hit a dive to Styles. Joe began the assault outside the ring and had complete control. He taunted the crowd while throwing Styles Down and pressed his neck. Samoa Joe tried to pin Styles after hitting him like a bull, but the champ kicked out at two.

A Steel chair was out. Joe went for the shot but Styles dropkicked him. He then hit him with the chair and placed it in front of Joe. He used it to jump and strike Joe but got caught and Joe slammed him onto it. Joe went ringside and took out the table. He slams AJ's back with the chair, after which he set up the table. Styles escaped the top turnbuckle and lifted him and slammed him on the table. Joe said that his knee had popped, and the ref looked to stop the match. Styles had none of it and took the referee aside and brutalized Joe.

The action went outside the ring and after a huge struggle, Joe fought back, catching Styles with a coquina clutch. Styles escaped and Joe then tried to finish him. He countered a pin attempt to a coquina clutch and that got countered into a Calf-Crusher. Joe struggled and tapped out.

Result: AJ Styles def. Samoa Joe and retained the WWE Championship
