WWE Superstars' ages (from 23 to 53): How old are Alexa Bliss, Roman Reigns & John Cena?

The age of a WWE Superstar is not as important in modern-day WWE compared to previous generations.

Back in the early-to-mid 1990s, Vince McMahon tried to create new main-event Superstars by moving the likes of The Undertaker, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels into top positions on the card, replacing ageing Superstars including Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage and Ric Flair.

Nowadays, while the majority of WWE’s full-time Superstars are aged 30-36, some people have continued to compete in matches for Vince McMahon’s company beyond the age of 50 in recent years.

On the flip side, a select few WWE Superstars have progressed quickly through the ranks to make an impact on RAW and SmackDown before the age of 30, including Dominik Mysterio and Sasha Banks.

In this article, let’s take a look at the ages of every Superstar who is currently on the WWE roster.

To put this age category into context, Brock Lesnar became the youngest WWE World Champion in history when he defeated The Rock at SummerSlam 2002 to win the Undisputed Championship at the age of 25.

Two years later, Randy Orton was just 24 years old when he defeated Chris Benoit for the World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam 2004, meaning he broke Lesnar’s record as the youngest WWE World Champion.

Unless Dominik Mysterio suddenly becomes a main-event World Championship contender, it looks like Orton’s record will remain intact for the foreseeable future.

Looking at the rest of the names in this list, it is interesting to note that just 11 WWE Superstars – and only four men – below the age of 30 currently appear on RAW and SmackDown.

WWE’s business model has changed over the last decade, with the majority of up-and-coming Superstars spending several years in NXT before moving on to RAW and SmackDown, but the lack of youth on WWE’s top two shows is still surprising.

  • Dominik Mysterio - 23
  • Humberto Carrillo - 24
  • Liv Morgan - 26
  • Sonya Deville - 26
  • Angel Garza - 27
  • Peyton Royce - 27
  • Otis - 28
  • Sasha Banks - 28
  • Alexa Bliss - 29
  • Ruby Riott - 29
  • Zelina Vega - 29

#6 WWE Superstars aged 30-31

The standout name in this category has to be Bo Dallas. The former WWE NXT Champion made his debut on WWE’s main roster at the age of just 22 as a participant in the 2013 Royal Rumble.

Unlike his older brother, Bray Wyatt, Dallas has struggled to cement his status as a key Superstar on RAW and SmackDown over the last seven years, and he has not been seen on WWE television since posting a cryptic tweet in December 2019 about going on a life-changing expedition.

The good news is that Dallas is only 30 years old, which means he is still one of the youngest Superstars in WWE and he has plenty of time left in his career to live up to his early potential.

Andrade, Montez Ford, Murphy and Ricochet are among the other Superstars in this list who could potentially become WWE main-eventers in the future.

  • Andrade - 30
  • Angelo Dawkins - 30
  • Bo Dallas - 30
  • Lacey Evans - 30
  • Mandy Rose - 30
  • Montez Ford - 30
  • Riddick Moss - 30
  • Tucker - 30
  • Bayley - 31
  • Bianca Belair - 31
  • Billie Kay - 31
  • Cedric Alexander - 31
  • Dana Brooke - 31
  • Gran Metalik - 31
  • Murphy - 31
  • Nikki Cross - 31
  • Ricochet - 31

#5 WWE Superstars aged 32-33

While this is certainly not the case in WWE, some sportsmen and women are forced to wind down their careers once they hit their early-to-mid 30s.

In football/soccer, for example, former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger enforced a rule that meant the club could only offer one-year contracts to anybody in his squad aged 32 or above.

Needless to say, a rule like that would not work in WWE, especially when you consider that many of the Superstars in the list below have probably not yet reached their prime as an in-ring competitor.

Along with Bray Wyatt and Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey’s name is one that certainly stands out in this category. The Baddest Woman on the Planet is listed in the Alumni section on WWE’s website, which suggests that she will not return to the ring, but she is still officially under contract until April 2021.

  • Carmella - 32
  • Elias - 32
  • Ember Moon - 32
  • Lars Sullivan - 32
  • Naomi - 32
  • Apollo Crews - 33
  • Becky Lynch - 33
  • Bray Wyatt - 33
  • Drew Gulak - 33
  • Kalisto - 33
  • Lince Dorado - 33
  • Ronda Rousey - 33
  • Steve Cutler - 33
  • Wesley Blake - 33

#4 WWE Superstars aged 34-35

The 34-35 age category is stacked with Superstars who have already achieved huge things in WWE in recent years.

This list contains four full-time Superstars who have competed in the last match on a WrestleMania card – Charlotte Flair, Drew McIntyre, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins – while Big E, Xavier Woods and The Usos have been involved in some of the best WWE tag team matches of the last decade.

As well as those aforementioned Superstars, the likes of Matt Riddle, Aleister Black and Keith Lee will almost certainly go on to have a lot of success in WWE in the coming years.

Jinder Mahal is another Superstar in this category whose peak years are probably still ahead of him, even though he has already made his mark as a former WWE Champion.

  • Big E - 34
  • Charlotte Flair - 34
  • Jinder Mahal - 34
  • Matt Riddle - 34
  • Mojo Rawley - 34
  • Mustafa Ali - 34
  • Seth Rollins - 34
  • Shorty G - 34
  • Xavier Woods - 34
  • Akira Tozawa - 35
  • Aleister Black - 35
  • Drew McIntyre - 35
  • Jey Uso - 35
  • Jimmy Uso - 35
  • Keith Lee - 35
  • Lana - 35
  • Roman Reigns - 35

#3 WWE Superstars aged 36-39

Former WWE Superstar and current AEW Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes said in an Instagram Live video in 2020 that he believes male wrestlers hit their prime between 35-40.

Looking at the Superstars below, that theory has definitely proven to be accurate for Kofi Kingston – he won the WWE Championship in 2019 at the age of 37 – while The Miz has arguably produced the best in-ring performances of his career over the last few years.

Given how long Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have been wrestling, it will be interesting to reflect back on this stage of their careers in five years to find out whether the quality of their matches improved as they approached their late 30s.

Another name that stands out here is Asuka. The Empress of Tomorrow is consistently one of WWE’s best in-ring performers, which is even more impressive when you take into account that she is among the oldest Superstars in the women’s division.

  • Erik - 36
  • Ivar - 36
  • Kevin Owens - 36
  • King Corbin - 36
  • Nia Jax - 36
  • Sami Zayn - 36
  • Braun Strowman - 37
  • Asuka - 38
  • Jaxson Ryker - 38
  • Natalya - 38
  • Cesaro - 39
  • Daniel Bryan - 39
  • Kofi Kingston - 39
  • The Miz - 39

#2 WWE Superstars aged 40-44

Although it has been widely reported that Brock Lesnar is no longer under contract with WWE, the eight-time WWE World Champion is still listed as a current Superstar on the company’s website, hence why he features in the list below.

One of the biggest takeaways from this category is the presence of AJ Styles and Lesnar.

If Vince McMahon’s “youth movement” philosophy of the 1990s was still around in 2020, these two Superstars would probably have moved on several years ago. However, just five months ago, they were involved in main-event matches at WWE WrestleMania 36.

Towards the end of this list, it is remarkable to think that Bobby Lashley is still one of the most dominant and athletic Superstars on the WWE roster at the age of 44, especially when other Superstars – notably John Cena – decided to slow down their careers in their early 40s.

  • Dolph Ziggler - 40
  • John Morrison - 40
  • Randy Orton - 40
  • Shayna Baszler - 40
  • Shinsuke Nakamura - 40
  • Mickie James - 41
  • Samoa Joe - 41
  • Sheamus - 42
  • Tamina - 42
  • AJ Styles - 43
  • Brock Lesnar - 43
  • Jeff Hardy - 43
  • John Cena - 43
  • Robert Roode - 43
  • Stephanie McMahon - 43
  • Titus O'Neil - 43
  • Bobby Lashley - 44

#1 WWE Superstars aged 45-53

For the record, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is 75 years old but he does not feature in this list because he has not competed in a match since facing CM Punk at the age of 67 in 2012.

The same can also be said for The Undertaker (55 years old), who seemingly confirmed his retirement during his Last Ride docuseries on the WWE Network earlier this year.

Now, looking at the WWE Superstars who are still active in this category, R-Truth is arguably more relevant at the age of 48 than he has been in his entire career, which is something that will almost certainly not be the case for most of the younger Superstars who featured earlier in this article.

WWE veteran MVP is also worthy of a special mention. Not only has he revitalized his own career by forming The Hurt Business, but he has turned two other Superstars in their mid-40s – Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin – into a force to be reckoned with on WWE RAW.

It is hardly surprising that the four oldest Superstars in this list have competed in just two matches between them in 2020 so far.

  • Rey Mysterio - 45
  • Shelton Benjamin - 45
  • Edge - 46
  • MVP - 46
  • Big Show - 48
  • R-Truth - 48
  • Shane McMahon - 50
  • Triple H - 51
  • Goldberg - 53
  • Kane - 53
