Shawn Michaels may have started out as a brash young superstar who was held backstage pull, but his in-ring prowess was never in doubt.

He first main-evented the big show against rival Bret Hart at WrestleMania 12 in 1996 in an Iron Man match.

His next defense helped kick off the Stone Cold Steve Austin Era in WWE when he defended the WWF Championship in 1998 at the 14th WrestleMania.

Michaels' next main event was a triple threat against Chris Benoit and Triple H at WrestleMania 20 in 2004.

His final two main events included challenging John Cena for the WWE Championship in 2007 at WrestleMania 23 and then in his retirement match at WrestleMania 26 in 2010 against the Deadman.

The Rock headlined three events at the end of the 1990s, including his first one at WrestleMania 15 in 1999 against Stone Cold.

He was then a participant in the Fatal Four Way for the title against Triple H, Mankind and the Big Show in the following year's final match and then he defended the WWF Championship against Stone Cold at WrestleMania 17 in 2001.

The Rock then headlined back-to-back 'Manias against John Cena at the 28th and 29th iterations of WrestleMania in 2012 and 2013.

John Cena also had the distinction of headlining three more WrestleManias in addition to his two against the Rock.

He battled Triple H and Shawn Michaels back-to-back in 2006 and 2007 at WrestleMania 22 and 23 and his last main event was WrestleMania 27 in 2011 against the Miz.
