This is the only segment that saved the main event

WWE Survivor Series 2017 has ended and we can finally sit back and take a breath to assess what was a pretty damn good pay per view, even if the main event didn't quite live up to the expectations.

Monday Night Raw might have won the battle for brand supremacy but there is no doubt that it was the WWE Universe that truly came out as the big winners with the glut of amazing wrestling.

So, without any further ado, let's get into our ratings for all the matches from WWE Survivor Series 2017 main card:

#1) The Shield vs The New Day

The only bad thing about this match was the ugly Raw t-shirts!
The only bad thing about this match was the ugly Raw t-shirts!

This was a really really good way to kick off WWE Survivor Series 2017 and both The Shield and The New Day brought their A games. While the result was more or less set in stone, the matched proved to be a mile a minute rollercoaster ride.

It will be interesting to see what's next for both these teams now. The New Day need a fresh program on Smackdown Live whereas over on Monday Night Raw we still wonder how long Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns can stay on the same page.

Rating - 8.5/10

#2) Women's Traditional 5-on-5 Elimination match

The team captains had a night to forget
The team captains had a night to forget

This was probably the weakest match of the night other than the main event itself. It looked like the women wouldn't be given too much time when Becky Lynch was eliminated in a matter of minutes, but the pacing improved as the match went on.

It proved to be quite an even contest and it gladdens me to see that Asuka is being treated as the real deal. Her finishing salvo was pretty sweet and it looks like the Raw Women's Championship is up next for her.

Rating - 7/10

#3) Baron Corbin vs The Miz

Corbin enjoyed a huge win
Corbin enjoyed a huge win

This match was so much better than most people would have anticipated. Baron Corbin has received an unwarranted reputation as an in-ring performer and he put on what was his best match in a long while to pick up the biggest win of his burgeoning career.

Despite being a heel vs heel match, the crowd was really into it and when it's all said and done, The End of Days remains one of the finest finishers in the WWE.

Rating - 7.5/10

#4) Sheamus and Cesaro vs The Usos

The Usos are the bar for tag team wrestling in the WWE
The Usos are the bar for tag team wrestling in the WWE

After WWE Survivor Series 2017, there is no doubt that The Usos are the very best tag team in the company. Jimmy and Jey put on a tag team wrestling clinic and found very impressive dance partners in Sheamus and Cesaro.

The Bar dominated most of the match as expected but the finishing sequence that the Uso twins executed was the stuff of tag team dreams. The second-best match of the night without a doubt.

Rating - 9/10

#5) Charlotte vs Alexa Bliss

The Women's Champion vs Champion saw the only two women to hold both the Raw and Smackdown Women's Championships going head to head. Charlotte, coming off her massive win this past week on Smackdown Live, ended up with a hard-fought win but Alexa Bliss can hold her head high as well.

Both The Queen and The Goddess played their roles to perfection and this was a perfect example of how to execute a heel vs face clash that ends with the babyface winning.

Rating - 8/10

#6) Brock Lesnar vs AJ Styles

What can you even say about AJ Styles at this point? The man is quite simply the very best in the world at what he does. Where WWE superstars have failed time and time again in crafting a great match against Brock Lesnar, "The Phenomenal One" exceeded all expectations and hopes.

He was never going to winning this match but the way he handled the affair was nothing short of spectacular and credit to Lesnar for playing his part in what was The Beast's best match in years.

Rating - 9.5/10

#7) Men's Traditional 5-on-5 Elimination match

Just not good enough
Just not good enough

And we come from the highest of highs to the lowest of lows. The Men's Traditional 5-on-5 match was a let down in every sense and proved to be the antithesis of the rest of the WWE Survivor Series 2017 match card.

The four guys who really deserved the spotlight - Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Roode, Finn Balor, and Samoa Joe - were all eliminated with very little fanfare whereas the oldtimers got most of the screen time.

The only bright spot in this was the further cementing of Braun Strowman was a huge star but even that was overshadowed by one of the most confusing endings ever.
