The Great Khali mania grips India

Khali is back in action exclusively for Indian fans for the first time ever

Wrestling fans can now bear witness to the return of their favourite wrestler The Great Khali in action for the first time ever on Indian soil. Tickets for The Great Khali Return Series have gone on sale with ticketing partner bookmyshow.com. Marking the first of its kind deal for any News Channel in the country, ETV today bagged the television broadcast for the same.

As per the terms of the deal, ETV will not just broadcast the fights live but will also extend promotional support for the series through its entire network. A High Voltage ‘The Great Khali Returns Series’ Anthem and Music Video unveiled. It will feature local Uttarakhand lad and winner of ‘The Voice’ as lead vocalist.

While the Anthem ‘Zor Laga’ features a very large sound and is focused on highlighting the hardworking and never say die attitude of Pahadis in general, the music video features this spirit and way of life personified through snapshots of The Great Khali himself and The Uttarakhand Chief Minister Shri Harish Rawat. The lyrics bring out the true meaning of being a winner, which is having the power to hold on despite the most adverse circumstances.

This anthem is a means to bring out the true meaning of being a pahadi, where their single-minded focus and supreme dedication is the key to chart their own success story. The artist is telling the viewers to be stubbornly persistent cause only then can they succeed. This high definition video is packaged well with soaring drama and action.

The two-day fight spectacle has been initiated and coordinated by #CM4Youth, the Uttarakhand Chief Minister’s youth outreach programme in association with The Bhartiya Samajik Sewa Sansthan, an NGO focused on imparting education to underprivileged children and OmReels Entertainment, a specialist entertainment solutions provider, gains significance as it would feature ‘The Great Khali’ fighting on Indian soil for the first time ever.

Furthermore, in addition to featuring 14 International wrestlers the Series has also been designed to offer an ideal platform, at par with any international event of this scale, for an equal number of budding Indian wrestlers.

Ticket price for the general stand starts with Rs.1000 and Rs.10,000 for the premium sitting, which is close to the ring. To popularise wrestling as a sport amongst the youth, the student body can enjoy a 50% discount on the Rs. 1000 ticket by showing their id at the time of booking.

Indira Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Gaula Par, Haldwani will be hosting the tournament on the 24th February, and Rajeev Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Raipur, in Dehradun will be hosting the same on the 28th February, 2016. The event is being executed by Om Reels entertainment and the fights will witness around 18,000-20,000 spectators at each venue.
