WWE TLC 2019: 3 Titles that will change hands at the PPV and 2 that won’t

WWE will look to end the year with a great show!
WWE will look to end the year with a great show!

WWE is keen on ending this decade with a memorable final pay-per-view -- Tables, Ladders, and Chairs. So far, the match card has confirmed that three titles will be on the line. But it is still possible that new matches will be announced right ahead of the PPV.

The WWE Championship, the Universal Title, the United States Championship and the Intercontinental Title won’t be defended at TLC.

For now, we know that The Viking Raiders will defend their RAW Tag Team Championship in an open challenge. The New Day will defend their SmackDown Tag team Championship against the Revival. And last, but not least, The Kabuki Warriors will defend their Women’s Tag Team Championship against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.

In this article, we will discuss the possible fate of each of the titles that will be on the line tonight at TLC 2019.

#1 Will change: SmackDown Tag Team Championship

Now, who doesn't like a good Tag Team rivalry?
Now, who doesn't like a good Tag Team rivalry?

The Revival and The New Day have been engaged in a brutal rivalry for quite some time. The two teams dominate the Tag Team division on the Blue brand and have produced great matches during the course of their ongoing feud.

The New Day defeated The Revival for the tag team gold while the latter successfully battled against three teams to win a shot at the titles. It is quite possible for us to see Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder end this year with the titles wrapped around their waists. This will lead to yet another compelling title bout at Royal Rumble.

The New Day openly stated that their rivalry with The Usos brought out their best and they hope to replicate the same with their feud with The Revival. Hence, we could see the SmackDown Tag Team Championship change hands a lot of times between these two teams.

#2 Won’t change: RAW Tag Team Championship

The raid that you must avoid...
The raid that you must avoid...

The Viking Riders have been on a hot run ever since they won the Tag Team Championship on the Red brand. They declared an open challenge for their titles and it will be interesting to see which team steps up for the match.

We have already seen The Street Profits step up to the challenge previously. Hence, the more likely options are now The O.C. or the Authors of Pain. Both these teams desperately need the gold to establish themselves as dominant heels.

However, The Viking Riders are expected to walk out of the PPV with their titles as they are currently the most dominant force on RAW. It is also possible for them to retain their Championship after a squash match. Hopefully, that won’t be the case as whichever team decides to lock horns with The Viking Raiders should continue this feud in the coming weeks.

#3 Will change: Women’s Tag Team Championship

An end or a new beginning?
An end or a new beginning?

The Kabuki Warriors have dominated the Women’s Tag Team division and they brought much-needed attention towards the relatively new title on the roster. After tormenting Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch for a few weeks, Asuka and Kairi Sane are set to defend their titles against the team of the two most dominant Superstars in the company.

Lynch and Flair have decided to set aside their differences and team up against The Kabuki Warriors in a TLC match that could be the main event of the show. There’s a possibility of Lynch becoming ‘Becky Two Belts’ and that too, at the PPV that established her presence last year. The change of titles, in this case, will allow the Creatives to engage four talented Superstars in an extended rivalry.

We might see Lynch and Charlotte take away the Women’s Tag Team Championship from the Kabuki Warriors which will then prompt Asuka to initiate a feud with the RAW Women’s Champion. The two are expected to lock horns at Royal Rumble and tonight would make for a perfect opportunity to kickstart this much-anticipated rivalry.

#4 Won’t change: SmackDown Women’s Championship (if added)

Bayley needs redemption. Could this be her chance?
Bayley needs redemption. Could this be her chance?

Since Becky Lynch is not defending her RAW Women’s Championship at the PPV, it is possible that the WWE Creative will prefer to have the other women’s Singles title on the line. Hence, we could see Bayley defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Lacey Evans.

The two have been engaged in a feud for the last few weeks where Evans has been outnumbered, owing to the presence of the Champion’s best friend -- Sasha Banks. Evans has received a huge push and is expected to be the next challenger for Bayley’s title. Hence, we could see her go after the Champion’s gold tonight albeit unsuccessfully.

Bayley’s heel turn needs more time and she is likely to end the year at the top of the women’s division of the Blue brand. Hopefully, WWE will take this chance to add more intensity to Bayley’s character while allowing her to redeem herself after losing at Survivor Series.

#5 Will change: 24/7 Championship

Could he be a 25-time 24/7 Champion after tonight?
Could he be a 25-time 24/7 Champion after tonight?

This is probably the easiest prediction on this list. R-Truth pinned NASCAR driver Kyle Busch to become the 24/7 Champion for the 24th time. It is possible that he loses his title to an unexpected guest tonight at TLC.

This title is often used in filler segments that will be an absolute necessity in between the brutal matches that will transpire at tonight’s pay-per-view. We could once again see the entire locker room chasing R-Truth for his gold in between matches and he might lose the title only to win it back towards the end of the show.

With all the current storylines that are transpiring on the main roster, WWE has managed to fetch a lot of attention and are enjoying the TRP despite mixed reactions. They will like to conclude the year with a bang and deliver a good PPV that will see intense title challenges.
