TNA’s sinking ship didn’t meet the fate that most of the wrestling community expected and the promotion ended up landing a deal with Pop TV.
TNA officially debuted on Pop TV yesterday on December 22nd by airing a best of 2015 special. The next special, which is also a best of 2015 compilation, would air on Tuesday, December 29th.
A third special titled ‘This is Impact’ is also scheduled to air on New Year's Day at 1 am EST. The special would familiarize the new network audience with Impact Wrestling by giving an in-depth look at the top wrestlers, factions and feuds that made TNA a force to be reckoned with.
Below is the description that TNA put out:
“An in-depth look at Impact Wrestling, including its wrestlers, history, feuds, factions, and fans, as well as a look at the World Title Series.”
According to PWInsider, a special on the X-Division is also in the pipeline and Pop are planning on airing it to in the days to come. The Pop TV deal has saved TNA from shutting shop that would have left its talents in a soup.
The year 2016 would mark a fresh start for the troubled promotion, which at a time, looked like a firm contender to WWE’s throne.
