What’s the story?

While recently promoting his new movie Breakers in Ireland, pro wrestling veteran and 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena spoke with Entertainment.ie and opened up regarding a possible run in the WWE for Irishman and UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

In case you didn’t know…

Considered as one of the most charismatic fighters of all time, “The Notorious” Conor McGregor has already proved himself to be one of the greatest combat fighters of all time to ever step foot into the UFC Octagon. McGregor is a former UFC Featherweight Champion and is also the first man in history to hold two division belts at the same time when he successfully captured the UFC Lightweight Championship back in 2016 after defeating Eddie Alvarez.

The heart of the matter

In his interview with Entertainment.ie, John Cena claimed that Conor McGregor would turn out to be a fantastic asset for the WWE and would do a remarkable job in the WWE, given the fact that if he ever signs for the company in the future.

According to Cena, McGregor is the type of athlete who has the perfect knowledge of the entertainment aspect of the sport and gets it as good, or better, than anyone else.

“He would do fantastic. Hell, he would put me out of work. He gets the entertainment aspect of sport, and I think he gets it as good, or better, than anyone else. The way he promoted the fight against Mayweather - that’s what we do. He did it as good, or better, than us.

Lastly, the leader of The Cenation added, that if McGregor ever signs for the world’s biggest wrestling promotion, then he would prove himself to be a fantastic WWE Superstar.

What’s next?

John Cena is currently eyeing a match against the legendary Undertaker at WrestleMania 34, as for Conor McGregor, “The Notorious One” has already stated earlier in the year that he will eventually return to the UFC later in 2018 following an absence of almost two years.

Author’s Take

Much like Ronda Rousey, I believe that Conor McGregor will also turn out to be a huge hit in the WWE, but “The Notorious One” has already stated in the past that he isn’t interested in signing for the WWE just yet.
