WWE WrestleMania 33: 5 WWE superstars who will be buried at WrestleMania

WrestleMania is the place where stars are born, where careers get made and where championship reigns are defined. Many enter the event as a mere mortal and leave the arena as a legend. However, not many take into consideration the other side of proceedings. Many a superstar is embarrassed at the show of shows, so much so that they never fully recover. The company may still show faith in them after the event, but the fans certainly don't.

This year will be no different, we have several matches on the card, and several wrestlers are in danger of being buried at the hands of their co-workers. These suggestions may seem unlikely to you, but it only takes 20 minutes inside the squared circle to ruin the aura of a wrestler.

Here are five superstars who will be buried at WrestleMania 33.

#5 Curt Hawkins

Curt Hawkins made his SmackDown return on the 21st of July 2016

Ever since the face the facts man debuted on SmackDown live, his career has been on a downward spiral. When he was first advertised on television, he was portrayed to be a comical act with a fair amount of potential. However, life has turned out to be quite the opposite for him. He's been booked as lower than the lower card and portrayed as the butt of every joke on SmackDown.

Curt Hawkins is set to feature in the fourth annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania. And there's no doubt in my mind that Hawkins will be eliminated in a ridiculous & comical fashion. I can imagine him being the first one to be removed from the battle royal, perhaps in record time. Maybe he won't even make to the ring at all. We'll have to wait and see what Vince deems funny on the day.

#4 The Miz & Maryse

The Miz and Maryse got married on the 20th of February 2014

Let's be true to ourselves, the Miz & Maryse will be nothing more than glorified jobbers at WrestleMania. The Miz had a great 2016, and all his hard work has been rewarded with a Mania match up with the face of the company. However, we all know who the real 'IT' couple are in this bout, and it would be mainstream suicide to have Cena & Nikki lose their first big match up together. The duo is rumoured to be embarking on several Hollywood opportunities in the summer, and a win at WrestleMania would be the catalyst for that run.

There are no two ways about it, John Cena & Nikki Bella are further up the pecking order than the Miz and Maryse. The match allows the former Intercontinental champion & his wife to gain a main event rub at the biggest show of the year. However, the rub ends as soon as the bell rings because we all know that Cena doesn't take L's in meaningless matches. Sorry Miz, at least you'll still be awesome in my eyes.

#3 Mojo Rawley

WrestleMania 33 will be the NXT graduate's first ever Mania. Not only will he be on the card he'll be participating in the revered Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. This is the match where all the jobbers congregate together and get 20 minutes of the spotlight before the real card starts. Even amongst all these jobbers, there are still tiers, and Mojo Rawley resides in the bottom tier of the match.

Like his best friend Curt Hawkins, Rawley's purpose in this match will be to make others look good at his own expense. He has no chance of winning the battle royal and will most likely be used as a tool to give the relevant superstars a bit of shine.

#2 Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss and the SmackDown Women's Championship
Alexa Bliss used to be a bodybuilder and cheerleader

As the SmackDown Women's champion, it's crazy to think that Bliss would even be mentioned on this list. However, the writing is on the wall for the champion. Reports broke this week that the WWE higher-ups are not particularly happy with Alexa's in-ring progress. She may be awesome on the mic, but the Women's champion’s wrestling has been sub-par at best.

Bliss will defend her title at WrestleMania in a multi-woman championship match making it all more the likely that she'll be denounced as Queen of the blue brand. I'm going as far to say that the champion will be humiliated and removed from the picture as quickly as possible at WrestleMania. It's clear that despite the faith shown in her, she has not reached the high expectations that many have set for her.

#1 Goldberg

Goldberg and Brock Lesnar on Monday Night Raw
Bill Goldberg has a net worth of $12million

This one may sound weird, but many main eventers have fallen off the face of the earth after a big match. Since coming back to the WWE, Goldberg hasn't wrestled more than 5 minutes. In that time he's squashed Brock Lesnar, speared the Undertaker and won the WWE Universal Championship at Fast Lane. No man has ever had such amazing statistics in such little time. However, this all comes to an end at WrestleMania 33.

In the main event of WrestleMania, we're to going to see Brock Lesnar bury Goldberg once and for all. At the moment, Goldberg is only one of two men to have two PPV victories over the Beast. This stat will just be used as fuel for Lesnar to get his coveted high-profile win over the 50-year old. Goldberg has proved that he can't wrestle long matches which makes me believe that this squash match will be short & quick, just to make it the more impactful.
