The scripted nature of professional wrestling is something that we wrestling fans are fully aware of, but choose to ignore. And WWE to its credit keeps kayfabe as far as possible, so that their loyal fans still follow the product week in, week out. Despite the earnest efforts by the promotion, sometimes, secrets do pop out of the box; and it makes matters worse if these secrets get caught on camera. Here, we take a look at some of the more fascinating WWE secrets caught on television:

#5 Seth Rollins apologising to Sting

Sting suffered a career-ending injury at Night Of Champions

Seth Rollins went up against Sting in a WWE Championship match at Night of Champions in what was Sting’s second match in the WWE, and there were a lot of expectations from it. Sting, to his credit, performed well but it was a very physical match for Sting and he took some solid punishment.

At one point of the match, Rollins is heard apologising to the Icon, and a video of that went viral. It was a moment that broke kayfabe and unfortunately for WWE, the cameras were in the wrong place at the right time.

#4 Cena calling for moves

Most of us know that a majority of the matches in WWE are called in the ring. Some wrestlers have crafted the art of calling moves secretly, while others have been caught messing up which has resulted in the fans hearing the calls.

John Cena has a reputation for falling into the second category during live events. He is known to call moves loudly and sometimes, the calls end up in fan recordings.

Cena has been criticised for calling his moves too loudly, and it is something that he needs to address at the earliest.

#3 Sin Cara's secret

The Sin Cara character has gone through a lot of changes in the WWE, but one thing that always stayed intact is the entrance. Sin Cara used to jump straight into the ring from the floor, and many of the fans wondered how he did it.

It is practically impossible for a human being to pull off such a move, and there was quite a lot of mystery surrounding the entrance.

All of that came to an end when a video surfaced on the internet which revealed the secret. The whole thing was really embarrassing to say the least, and when Sin Cara botched certain moves inside the ring, he soon started developing a bad reputation among the fans.

#2 Blading

Blading is perhaps one of the most popular secrets in professional wrestling. The element of blood is used to add drama to the story, and wrestlers achieve this by blading themselves.

The blades used for this purpose are usually well-hidden from the sight of the fans and are used very carefully. But just like all the other instances in the list, blading has been caught on camera as well.

It’s clearly not the prettiest thing to see on video but then again, it shows how far wrestlers go to make the wrestling look real.

#1 The MSG Curtain Call

This is the moment that changed the course of professional wrestling.

WWE wanted to keep their kayfabe intact when they were growing to become the biggest sports entertainment promotion, but at that time, Kliq had other ideas. They were real-life friends who were matched up against each other as heels and baby faces during a live show in MSG. This was supposed to be the last match of Scott Hall and Kevin Nash in the WWE, before they left for WCW.

After the match, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Nash and Hall got together for a group hug, which was caught on camera, and unsurprisingly, the footage spread like wildfire.

Triple H was the only one who got punished for the incident as Michaels was the WWE Champion back then. Hunter lost his opportunity to become the King of the Ring, which was won by an upcoming wrestler named Steve Austin.
