5 WWE Superstars who are happy 2015 is over

Dolph Ziggler’s 2015 didn't go as well as his 2014 ended.

About a year ago, The Authority celebrated a return to power thanks to Seth Rollins. As the calendar turned from 2014 to 2015, WWE saw the return of The Authority after a month out of power brought on by Team Authority’s loss to Team Cena at Survivor Series. The top heels celebrated as fans wondered what 2015 would hold. With 2015 almost over, we've witnessed what was in store. Authority star Seth Rollins won the World Heavyweight Title at Wrestlemania and held it until a knee injury put an abrupt stop to his reign in November. Other performers picked up big wins and took their careers to the next level. But for some superstars, 2015 was a year they'd rather forget. Here are five such wrestlers :-

#1 Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler’s 2015 didn't go as well as his 2014 ended.

Very few men had a better last few months of 2014 than Dolph Ziggler did. He held the Intercontinental title twice and was the lone survivor for Team Cena after overcoming a 3-to-1 disadvantage at Survivor Series to knock The Authority out of power.

But then Triple H and Stephanie McMahon returned, and it all went downhill for Ziggler. The Intercontinental title was strong-armed away from him, and he was even temporarily fired for his Survivor Series heroics.

Down the road, he got mired in a love triangle or rectangle storyline with Rusev, Lana and Summer Rae and eventually became Tyler Breeze's first feud on the main roster

#2 Wade Barrett

It's good to be King unless you're Wade Barrett.

For most wrestlers, winning the Intercontinental title and King of the Ring in the same year would be the mark of a good year, but not so for Wade Barrett.

The aforementioned title reign ended at Wrestlemania and was not one of the belt’s better runs. Then his King of the Ring victory came in a thrown-together tournament with no real benefit for the crown, and he lost a lot afterwards.

Add in injury concerns and several lackluster feuds, and not even a fresh start with the League of Nations could save Barrett’s year

#3 Damien Sandow

Damien Sandow has a real gift for entertainment when given the opportunity.

To answer the question, Damien Sandow does, seemingly, still work for the WWE, but you'd never know it from watching the company’s programming. Despite surprisingly entertaining runs as Mizdow and Macho Mandow, Sandow hasn't been seen in a meaningful role in months.

Some of that could be attributed to bad luck, as the Macho Man impersonation was cut short when Hulk Hogan’s racism scandal forced an end to Curtis Axel’s “Axelmania” gimmick. But there's certainly no reason Sandow couldn't have returned to television with another character.

There has been talk of Sandow appearing in various capacities at WWE events off television, and hopefully, that builds to a return in 2016

#4 Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan’s status with the WWE has been a major topic of conversation this year.

Perhaps no superstar is as beloved as Daniel Bryan, but fans haven't gotten much of the bearded superstar this year.

He returned just before Royal Rumble – which led to a major program with eventual Rumble winner Roman Reigns. Bryan went on to win the Intercontinental title at Wrestlemania, but that reign was short-lived.

He had to vacate the title just a few weeks later after an injury, marking the second time in as many years that he had to give up a belt because of his health. Concussion concerns have left his future in doubt, but surely 2015 isn't a year Bryan has loved.

#5 Randy Orton

Randy Orton is one of the top performers in the current WWE era.

Randy Orton hasn't really had much to like about 2015. The 12-time champion delivered perhaps the most impressive move of the year at Wrestlemania with a neck lift RKO to Seth Rollins, but that's likely the only bright spot.

Orton took a triple powerbomb from the former Shield members during his world title shot at Payback and got stuck in a forgettable feud with Sheamus. Throw in a shoulder injury from taking out the trash, and 2015 was awful for the Viper
