Bryan was once fired for a ridiculous reason

Shaking hands or hugging has never been a crime. So if someone gets suspended from their job for doing either of those things, you are bound to be baffled. The incident that happened with Titus O’Neil and WWE was along those very lines. Titus, who just wanted to show some love for his boss, got suspended from WWE for something completely harmless. But the worst part is that that wasn't the first time something like that had happened with the company. Over the past few years, WWE has made some really questionable suspensions and firings. Here is a list of five superstars who were suspended for really strange reasons.

#5 Jim Ross - For not controlling Ric Flair

Jim Ross is hands down a legendary figure in the WWE. He has been there and done it all when it comes to the wrestling business, and his presence is something that all the fans wish for in the current WWE product. But even the legendary JR was once a victim of WWE’s shaky policies.

The incident happened during a WWE 2K14 video game panel when Ross was hosting Ric Flair. Flair was not in the right state of mind and he went on to reveal a bunch of stories which were not suited to the situation. WWE later fired JR for not controlling Ric, and also claimed that JR had insulted a sponsor during the panel discussion.

#4 Daniel Bryan For playing a heel

Daniel Bryan had to fight his way to the top in WWE. After stamping his name in the independent circuit, Bryan started off in the WWE as a part of Nexus. The stable was a hit from the word go and one of their most notable segments occurred when they invaded the WWE arena. All the superstars involved had their time to shine and as he was playing a heel, Bryan also embraced the spotlight.

Bryan choked announcer Justin Roberts but unfortunately for him, WWE thought that it was uncalled for. In simple words, WWE was unhappy at Bryan for playing the character that he was supposed to play. Bryan was fired, but he found his way back into the company soon.

#3 Konnan For exposing Vinces lack of knowledge

The problems that Konnan had with WWE are no secret. The two parties were never on the same page, and one specific incident in their relationship particularly stands out.

Konnan had a brief stint as Max Moon in the early 90s. During that time, Vince McMahon apparently told Konnan that he did not know any wrestler called Jushin Thunder Liger.

Konnan recalled a photo of Vince with Jushin and apparently called Vince out on this lie. This later had a big role in the release of Konnan; the bridge was burnt just like that.

Now the question is, did Vince really not know about the Japanese legend?

#2 Alberto Del Rio For standing up to a racist comment

Alberto Del Rio came into WWE amid plenty of hype. He had a solid following in Mexico, and WWE wanted to bank on that. They gave him a big push and Del Rio ended up achieving a lot in the company.

He became the first superstar to win the 40-Men Royal Rumble match, won the World heavyweight championship, won Money in the Bank and had many big matches.

Del Rio’s fairytale run lost its momentum as time went by, and he was eventually relegated to the mid-card. However, there was some awkwardness in Del Rio's career too. According to the rumours, Del Rio slapped a backstage official who was making racist comments, and this reaction led to his firing from the company.

Standing up to racism is clearly not something that deserves a firing but unfortunately for Del Rio, that's exactly what he got.

#1 The Highlanders For watching TNA wrestling

WWE has a policy of never mentioning rival promotions in any of its shows. Ever since WCW went out of business, WWE has stuck to this rule diligently, living as though it is the only fish in the sea.

But this habit of theirs ended the career of a solid tag team.

Robbie and Rory McAllister, also known as the Highlanders, were having a good stay in the WWE mid-card in the 2000s. Roby, however, made the grave mistake of going and watching a TNA show, where he was caught on camera.

He immediately got a call from the WWE management about it and was eventually released from the company.
