5 Possible feuds for Roman Reigns after WrestleMania 31

WrestleMania 31 was supposed to be the night of Roman Reigns. After winning the Royal Rumble, the Samoan Superman looked destined to become the new WWE champion at WrestleMania but thanks to some backlash from the fans, Vince McMahon decided to go with an alternative ending.Despite this, Reigns still has a bright future ahead of him. He has been in the main roster for only two years and WWE could still mould him as the new face of the company if they give him the right booking. The post WrestleMania period will be crucial to start things off and here is a look at the possible feuds Reigns could have to recover from his loss at the Levis stadium.

#5 Bray Wyatt

Bray Wyatt and his buzzards will be looking for a high profile feud after the Undertaker chapter. He had a solid outing at the pay-per-view despite the loss and considering the history that these two have due to Shield and Wyatt family, a potential storyline could steal the show.

Reigns’ shortcoming on the microphone could be classified as a big problem ahead of this angle but since Bray was able to carry the entire Undertaker feud without even Taker’s presence, he wouldn’t have much problem carrying Reigns as well.

There is however a big risk of fans cheering for Bray since he has earned the respect of some due to his performance at Mania while Reigns is still treated as a spoon fed miniature version of John Cena.

#4 Rusev

A couple of months back the entire SmackDown was dedicated to Roman Reigns. He was seen headlining the show on various occasions and one of the most prominent opponents he had was Rusev. The Bulgarian Brute locked horns with Reigns several times but the fans never got a clean ending in those battles.

Their confrontations were driven by pure power rather than promos and WWE could put the two into a short segment now that Rusev would need one desperately. He lost his United States Championship to Cena at Mania and though he has a rematch at Extreme Rules, the chances of him winning back the gold are minimal.

Lana’s absence will be a big blow if this feud happens but there have been instances of the wrestling storylines being driven without even one promo so we never know.

#3 Seth Rollins

The friction between Rollins and Reigns dates back to their Shield days. Rollins backstabbed Reigns during their run as a stable and then went on to steal the opportunity of the Samoan at WrestleMania 31. What more reasons should Reigns have to take out WWE champion?

WrestleMania was supposed to be the career changing moment for Reigns but thanks to the Money in the Bank cash in of Rollins, Reigns turned out to be a sore loser. Reigns deserves another clear shot at the championship for what happened and if WWE puts in their Shield history into the mix as well, then we got ourselves a solid storyline in our hands which could run across multiple pay-per-views.

#2 Daniel Bryan

Relegating Roman Reigns to the Intercontinental Championship right after he challenged for the WWE title might not sound like a good idea. However, we are talking about the Intercontinental championship of Daniel Bryan here. Reigns and Bryan had some great chemistry on the road to WrestleMania and it was Bryan who put Reigns over at Fast Lane.

Bryan asked Reigns to capture the opportunity and end Lesnar’s reign at Mania. Reigns could not do the same and WWE could easily build up an angle with this as the foundation.

We have already seen what these two could do in-between the ropes and having the IC championship on the line is going to skyrocket the intensity.

#1 Triple H

If Vince McMahon is serious about putting over Reigns as a top babyface in WWE, then this feud must happen. The fans have been calling for it ever since WWE had the Evolution vs. Shield angle but Reigns suffered an injury and the entire plan was shelved.

Now that both the superstars are pretty much free after WrestleMania, WWE could easily book the two in another angle. Reigns’ not getting a proper rematch at the WWE championship should be the driving force in the feud and if that is not the case, the old Authority vs. Rebel formula could be dug out.

Reigns will look a lot credible once Triple H puts him over and WWE could then give Reigns the championship shot that he deserves.
