WWE Monday Night Raw Preview: 22 September, 2014

Night of Champions lived up to all the expectations of turning into a failure as a majority of the fans were left wondering why they paid their well-earned money for the pay-per-view.There were a lot of questions left unanswered as the show concluded and WWE has a lot of pressure to make sure that they answer everything this week on Raw.The company will be bringing the latest episode of their flagship show from Memphis this week and despite botching Night of Champions, Raw has been hyped well in the social media.A handful of new champions and WWE’s explanations for screwing up on Sunday will be taking the centre stage this week on Raw and here is a look at what all the WWE Universe could expect from a creative team that is almost down and out.

#5 New Champions in house

Night of champions might be a pay-per-view named after the champions, but it wasn’t a good night for most of them to be precise.

Sheamus was the only champion who came out with a win from the pay-per-view which had a total of five title matches. It started off with the Rhodes Brothers stunning Usos to get another tag title reign while Dolph Ziggler was put back into the pit when Miz won the Intercontinental title.

Paige lost out her title to AJ Lee while Brock Lesnar nearly escaped from losing his. This week on Raw, all the champions will be in celebration mood and we might see glimpses of the new path that WWE has in mind for them.

It would be interesting to see what the company has in store for the former champions as well since they have a rematch clause waiting to be invoked.

#4 What is New Generation?

Every WWE fan who has an account in Twitter might’ve already known about the ‘New Generation’ tease that the company did on their official account.

The WWE universe is actually split on the matter as it could simply turn out to be a WWE 2K15 promotional work. However, it is the second possibility that everyone wants to see, an Invasion angle involving the NXT superstars.

Recently, the company’s official website tagged Adrian Neville, Sami Zayn, Kenta, Kevin Steen and Prince Devitt as the ‘New Generation’ which might be linked with the tweet.

Also, most of these superstars are booked for this week’s Raw meaning that there is something interesting to look forward to.

#3 It might be Showtime for Sting

It’s the moment that the fans have been waiting for more than 15 years. Ever since WCW folded, everyone wanted to see Sting gaze the WWE squared circle but it never happened because of Sting’s involvement with TNA.

Now that he has left that sinking ship, the doors are wide open for Sting to make his way into Vince McMahon’s promotion.

There is no official word yet on the signing of Sting but if he was willing to corporate with the company for 2k15, a deal might be closer than ever.

And to add more smoke to the fire, Sting tweeted ‘It’s Showtime’ along with the Raw date. Sting making a debut would erase everything that WWE did wrong at the Night of Champions and they will be desperate to do the same.

#2 The lunatic is back

There have been many hear stopping returns in the history of WWE and Night of Champions gave its contribution on Sunday when the Lunatic Fringe returned to take down Seth Rollins.

The WWE was clearly having a shortage of baby faces in the roster after Reigns picked up and injury and the returning Ambrose means that the problem is solved now.

In the absence of Daniel Bryan and Reigns, Ambrose could easily elevate himself into the main event scene as Cena being the anti-hero is not going to happen in ages.

However, Ambrose is one of the most unpredictable superstars in the roster and the fans are well aware of that. This unpredictability is what makes him worth watching, and this weeks Raw would make it clear what he will be looking to do next.

#1 The Beast and the Authority

Lesnar wasnt a puppet champion like Orton. He was someone who loved to stay away from the Authority and win the matches his way rather than letting Kane interfere in the end and gift him the win.

While staying out of the Authoritys way, one thing that Lesnar wanted was Hunter doing the same. However, now that Seth Rollins ruined Lesnars date with Cena, it is sure to invoke some tension between the Beast and Authority.

Rollins mightve had the Authoritys backing while he was trying to cash in and Heyman is sure to question that this week on Raw.

We might see a face turn from Lesnar or some friction between Rollins and Authority and both possibilities promises to make must watch television.
