That’s what we got to know after another traditional beginning to Raw with The Authority coming down to the ring and then going on to introduce their champion Seth Rollins.Also, another hyped bout leading up to Raw was Charlotte facing Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship. The thriller being if Charlotte could halt Nikki’s quest to break AJ Lee’s record of being the longest reigning divas champion in WWE history.Here are the five promising developments from this week’s episode of Raw-
#1 A Partner
So, Reigns and Ambrose have finally found a partner. That partner may not be Randy Orton or Jimmy Uso. Surely hope it’s not Erick Rowan, though it seems like that but anyway at Night of Champions, Reigns and Ambrose will face the Wyatt family in a 3 on 3 tag team match and their mystery partner will be revealed then.
That atleast leaves a bit of suspense and you’ll tune in any way to see who the surprise entrant might be.
#2 History
Nikki Bella is now undeniably the longest reigning Divas Champion. Not many of you would have wanted a Bella to create this historical moment but in retrospect Nikki Bella had some of the best matches during her championship reign than most champions before her. Surely, she was given more opportunities to have those matches but the defining thing is that she was able to deliver. Few of her matches with Paige on Raw and AJ Lee were really well- worked. And atleast taking the Divas Championship away from her means more than anything right now.
Also, this was an effective way to get people to cheer more for Charlotte
She works really well as a heel. And at NoC, it more or less guarantees that Charlotte will take her crown.
#3 New Day Vs The Dudleys
Well, Primetime Players and the New Day had quite a fun match until the latter won and soon a match between them and the legendary Dudleys was announced for Night of Champions.
They even had a staredown later on but this is possibly the best match the tag team division could hope for with two of the best tag teams vying for the title.
Also, Xavier Woods is a trombone playing legend already in the WWE.
Also, guys, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon danced with The New Day
#4 Paige Vs Sasha Banks series
This was their fourth match against each other on the main roster. That may be one overplayed bout but Paige and Sasha Banks still have some great in- ring chemistry which can have a huge advantage if it had some backdrop or a meaningful storyline.
And maybe that storyline can be how Paige is just not able to overcome Banks.
There are so many women on the main roster with so much talent that there needs to be multiple storylines just like WWE does for their tag team division or Intercontinental championship or US Championship.
Maybe the women’s division needs more titles.
#5 Owens will fight....
..at Night of Champions for the Intercontinental Championship.
This feud between Ryback and Owens hasn’t had a lot of time to build up but it’s already one of the best feuds Ryback’s had in his career. Why? Because we got an Owens promo that proved why he’s not only one of the MVPs on the microphone but also the best, most entertaining heel WWE has had in a long time.
He made fun of Ryback’s admiration for the book ‘The Secret’.
Something so simple, yet significant.
