WWE RAW 1st February 2016 - 5 Promising developments

The Beast kicked off Raw

The Beast was confronted by the Lunatic Fringe on RAWThis episode was much awaited of, only for Lesnar’s appearance, and the beast, like always, did not disappoint. He met Dean Ambrose tonight and it was a moment to behold. But by the end of the night, Ambrose sort of got a slice of what he asked for in the beginning of the show. Lesnar ended the night standing tall and Ambrose, it seems, will eventually embrace what happened to him to Raw in hindsight. It wasn’t the best episodes of Raw by a long shot and it wasn’t the worst, so that’s some decent news. Here are the 5 promising developments from tonight-

#1 The Beast on Raw

The Beast kicked off Raw

Brock Lesnar’s entrance theme kicked off Raw and it was electric in the arena as you could have expected.

Paul Heyman got down to business addressing what The Wyatts did to Lesnar at Royal Rumble. Thou shalt never intentionally provoke Brock Lesnar – so reads the 11th commandment in the mayor of Suplex City’s constitution, and The Wyatt Family are on the cusp of encountering The Beast execute it into motion.

Wyatt wasn’t on raw given his grandfather’s illness in real life. So, Lesnar’s presence was primarily there to address his upcoming match at Fastlane against Ambrose and Reigns. Moving on....

#2 \"Take me to Suplex City\"

And then he met Dean Ambrose

Stack and pin both brothers at the same time; that’s The Beast’s simple strategy to move on to Wrestlemania 32 to face Triple H. Reigns and Triple H know what Lesnar is all about; but Ambrose does not. Heyman tried running down Ambrose until the IC Champion decided to interject.

Two unhinged human beings came face to face. Lesnar – with his sheer build and power – made him an anomaly. Ambrose is a born survivor and no amount of decimation has been able to put him out for long.

Ambrose did not want to be sold the typical roughage about how he’s going to get beaten up by Reigns and Lesnar – he welcomes the beating, he welcomes the chaos and he welcomes the decimation, but he will drag himself to Wrestlemania.

Ambrose never disappoints on the mic and this worked well.

#3 How the cookie crumbles

Banks broke off her alliance with Team B.A.D

Rumors were justified this week as Sasha Banks broke free of Team B.A.D.

Naomi and Tamina did not like it that much and were quite amused. So they still decided to be ringside when Banks took on Lynch. Of course, this was leading up to them attacking Banks eventually and that happened after The Boss told them to leave during their beatdown of Lynch mid-match.

Eventually, The Irish Lasskicker and The Boss teamed up to drive B.A.D away.

Maybe, this is a filler feud for Fastlane. Charlotte’s got her own filler feud after she was beaten by Brie Bella. It seems the triple threat will happen at Wrestlemania and not Fastlane, which is good news.

#4 New feud

Ziggler won his match against Owens

Dolph Ziggler beat Owens clean on Raw tonight and that led to Owens making quite an entertaining show out of the commentary booth when he threw stuff at Michael Cole.

You’ve got to love his interactions with Cole, but the favorite one among the lot would be when he fell on Cole at Royal Rumble.

Ziggler and Owens never disappoint when they face each other and so this match was great. But Ziggler getting a win means there is a feud brewing there somewhere and it will be interesting to see where this one goes.

#5 New feud part 2

Styles and Y2J might meet again for a match

Chris Jericho is on the borderline when it comes to irrelevancy – something known to be associated with Kane and The Big Show more often.

But ever since he and AJ Styles had their match at Raw, there is some hope in the tank. Both of these guys are veterans and had enviable debuts in WWE history. Their match last week was so good that it deserves an encore and so it’s worth the wait to see where this one goes.

Jericho spoke to Renee Young this week, informing us that he’ll pay good heed to Styles’ match against The Miz.
