Raw kicked of the annual Slammy Awards and many superstars recieved multiple awards throughout the night. Out of all of them Seth Rollins piled on the Slammys he won and Slammys he thought he deserved to win. There were some unexpected returns and an unexpected debut.It wasn't the best of nights, but that is generally expected from a three hour Raw Broadcast.Here are the five promising developments from this weeks RAW.
#1 Wyatt and Ambrose face off again
This happened again and it might seem very repetitive. But it seemed like the right step to go forward with. Ambrose will, apparently, not sell the neck brace but it is expected off his nutty anti-heroic character to not really care about his own well being. It was a nice touch to have Ambrose come out of an Ambulance full of smoke.
For th the third show in a row the chairs, ladders or tables have come out between these two unhinged characters. But it is actually to build the intensity of the final showdown between the two. Wyatt’s attck on Ambrose on Friday Might Smackdown and Ambrose’s attck on Wyatton both Raw’s have been efective and have set the stage for their second match which can most likely steal the show.
#2 Charlotte debuts
Charlotte debuted in a singles match against Natalya. She was introduced as the NXT Womens Champion. That means that this might just be a rehearsal before the real deal. She’ll still be in NXT.
The match wasn’t as awesome as their match at NXT but it was pretty good for a main roster match. It was a nice way to set things up for Charlotte. And a good decision to have Natalya win.
#3 Awards that mattered
Of course, these awards are as good as the polls that take place on the WWE App. It is a strong argument that WWE will play things out according to their whims and fancies and make one follow their own narrative.
What is great is to see guys like Ziggler and Ambrose winning some of these Slammys. It makes one believe that the management will utilize their talents in a better way in the coming year. None of that is a given fact but having them win an award which should strictly be based on fan votes, shows that WWE supports the fans supporting them.
#4 AJ Lee\'s speech
AJ Lee won the Diva of The Year. She may not have had the most impactful year but she is by far a very relevant wrestler in the divas department. She made her entrance giving Lawler a much deserved reluctant hug and then she went on to give shout outs to Emma and the NXT divas namely- Sasha Banks, Bayley and Charlotte (who made her debut earlier in the night).
It is much deservedand the WWE has a lot of talent to bank on in the divas department. So, it’s time that they actually take advantage of the talent that they have.
#5 Miz and Mizdow
The cracks have been visible for a while. Mizdow is happy ignoring them for now but the split is going to happen and that is inevitable. Miz took Mizdow’s Slammy. He isn’t even willing to share the real Tag title with him.
He’s hungry for the spotlight that he thinks he deserves but all that there is to it is that Mizdow has been farbetter in playing The Miz than Miz. He’s the best actor of the year.
