WWE Survivor Series 2014: 5 things that must happen at the Pay-Per-View

Hell in a Cell turned out to be one of those pay-per-views which exceeded expectations mainly due to that bar being very low. The fans had a lot of criticism about the interference ending in the Seth Rollins – Dean Ambrose match but keeping that apart, it was all sunshine and rainbows. With that wrapped up, the next pay-per-view headache for the creative team comes at November 23, 2014 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri for Survivor Series. There are a lot of possible angles that WWE could build up after a successful HIAC and the company need not be hesitant about pushing the envelope a bit further. There are certain things that should happen at Survivor Series to make sure that the fans doesn’t go home red-faced and here is a look at those booking decisions.

#5 Ryback cementing his babyface run

Ryback made a triumphant return this week on Raw after a long injury lay-off. Before being taken out of action, the big guy was being wasted in a tag team with Curtis Axel which was going nowhere.

And before that botched team, Ryback was having a main event run where he main event a couple of pay-per-views.

Now, the reason for Ryback’s main event push was not the Goldberg chants he used to get. Instead, there was a legitimate bankability in the monster face gimmick which turned out to be a failure only because of WWE’s ill management of the superstars.

The reaction he got for his return was the proof of Ryback being still over with the fans and WWE should cement his second chance at Survivor Series by giving him a big win.

#4 Brock Lesnars return

John Cena earned the right to face Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Hell in Cell but it seems like he won’t be getting the chance at Survivor Series.

Cena leading a team against the Authority at Survivor Series means that Lesnar won’t wrestle despite it being a ‘big four’ pay-per-view.

WWE might be able to mask his absence from the ring if they pile up some god matches but in the end, after all that smoke has cleared, the most resounding question will be ‘where is the champion’.

Lesnar’s absence is going to be bought up if WWE mess up the show even by a bit and the only way to solve this would be to let the Beast make some sort of appearance even if he doesn’t wrestle a full match.

#3 Freedom for Bray and Ambrose

Bray Wyatt’s interference as mentioned earlier made a lot of people raise their eyebrow but what we have in our hands now is an attitude era feud in the PG era.

The Attitude Era was built up mostly on verbal attacks and some violent action while WWE had the superstars to pull similar angles off.

Bray and Ambrose are two superstars in the current roster who would’ve actually survived a blooming period like that and those two locking horns is probably going to bring out the best promos in the PG Era.

A match between the two is almost certain at Survivor Series and what the WWE should do is to leave the two on their own without any interference. There is going to be a lot of psychology in between the ropes to be seen and the duo is going to tell a memorable story for sure.

#2 Randy Ortons face turn

The talent of Randy Orton has been heavily shadowed by the Authority ever since he won the title from Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam with the help of Triple H.

Orton then went on to have a forgettable run as champion, reunited with the Evolution and was limited to a supporting role in almost all the other occasions. His career was going nowhere at that rate and this made the WWE think about his face turn.

The RKO that he delivered to Rollins on Raw was the strongest hint so far but WWE should not give away the turn on free television.

With Orton and Rollins set to be part of the same team at the pay-per-view, there wouldn’t be a better place to pull off the face turn.

#1 John Cena not being the last survivor

One of the biggest concerns that the fans will have about Survivor Series is Vince McMahon’s love for John Cena.

We’ve seen Cena getting the pick over many deserving names in many occasions and Survivor Series has the potential for the same.

Cena will be leading a team against the Authority and being the captain, he is the favorite to be the last survivor. This is something that WWE could avoid at all cost as an ending like this would make the fans tag the show as a failure. Instead of giving Cena another rub, the company could give a spotlight to any youngster like Rollins or Rusev who would actually benefit by being the last survivor just like Orton did in the past.
