WWE Survivor Series 2014: Predicting the team members for Team Cena vs Team Authority

The battle lines for a traditional elimination match for Survivor Series were drawn this week on Raw. Authoritys involvement in the pay-per-views main event was imminent and the only question left was about the opposition.Out of all people, WWE chose John Cena who just came out of Hell in a Cell with a title shot against Brock Lesnar. That match now has to wait till Cena settles the score with Hunter and his pack on November 23rd.A big question mark that still haunts the WWE Universe is about the superstars that would line up in the main event. There are a lot of spots to be filled in that context and here is a look at the possible team members that the WWE could come up with.

#10 Team Authority: Kane

Kane has been a mainstay in the Authority for ages now and it would be surprising to see the big red monster sitting out of this one.

Kane would be one of those expendables in the Authority’s team as they would need to protect the upcoming names at Kane’s expense. He will probably be the leader of the group as well and deserves to be the same due to the instability that is going to be there between his teammates.

He would however struggle to make any impact during the match as it looks set to be another supporting role outing for the veteran.

#9 Team Cena: John Cena

After winning the Hell in a Cell bout against Orton and securing his title shot, Cena moved into a feud with the Authority much to the surprise of the fans.

Keeping away Lesnar, Cena is the best name in the active roster that could play rebel against Authority as he knows how to rip Hunter and Stephanie. The Cena – Authority battle is going to give out some entertaining promos all over the buildup.

With Cena leading the team, many would expect him to be the last survivor as well and though it will not be best for business, deal with it.

#8 Team Authority: Seth Rollins

Rollins established his name as a top dog in the list of Authority’s loyal servants from the moment he crashed that steel chair into Roman Reigns’ back.

From there, Rollins then went on to win the Money in the bank briefcase and his career graph never dropped after he started his association with Hunter. Rollins doesn’t have any other opponent left in the roster at this particular moment and he should fit in well with the scenario.

He could also end up being the final survivor of his team if WWE wants to let the heel win and that would be a big achievement for the Architect.

#7 Team Cena: Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler turned out to be the first recruit for Cena on Raw. The Show off doesn’t have the best of relations with the Authority and the matches that he had against Rollins were a proof of that.

So when, he got a chance to stand up alongside Cena against Hunter, Ziggler voluntarily grabbed that which makes a lot of sense. His presence in the match would be good from a wrestling point of view even if it doesn’t bring narrative improvement to the table.

Also, Ziggler deserves to main event a pay-per-view after all these months and he surely would grab the opportunity to show the backstage people that he belongs there.

#6 Team Authority: Randy Orton

The Viper might be having a lot of problems with the Authority but Hunter would be wise enough to include him in the team.

Though Orton is hard to manage, he has a great record when it comes to Survivor Series matches and Triple H would expose that before making the decision to include Orton despite his recent heroics on Monday Night Raw.

Also, the friction between Orton and Rollins would make a compelling sub plot. Orton would have the best platform for his face turn. The sight of seeing Kane being the peacemaker between the two would also be an entertaining affair.

#5 Team Cena: Jey Uso

After losing out to the Dust Brothers at Hell in a Cell, the Usos are left without any feud to speak about. Having another title shot is also ruled out of the situation since the team already had a million matches against Goldust and Stardust.

And since there aren’t other tag teams in the division for Usos to feud with and being loyal followers of Cena, the gutsy brothers would find it no hard to be in the Cenation leader’s corner at Survivor Series.

The much needed flashiness would be inserted into the match by Usos and fans would get to see some high flying as long as these two are still in the match.

#4 Team Authority: Cesaro

After the beating he got at the hands of Dean Ambrose, it would be hard to make Cesaro look good. However, an easy way for this would be to make him part of team Authority.

The company could run an angle where Cesaro has to earn his place in the team. After overcoming the hurdles, he would make a good addition to the team, making the match more exciting.

With Ziggler on the other side, WWE could also work a subplot between the two as they are coming fresh off a feud which culminated in a two out of three falls match at Hell in a Cell.

#3 Team Cena: Jimmy Uso

All the points mentioned for Jey Uso applies for his brother as well and the addition that needs to be made is about how the brothers would be booked in the star studded match.

The perfect formula for having a traditional Survivor Series match needs some expendable superstars who need to start the elimination process. While team Authority has Kane and the friction between Orton and Rollins to do the job, team Cena would rely mostly on the Usos.

After all those flashiness and high flying moves, the Usos are going to be eliminated soon after someone somewhere pulls off a finisher amidst the match.

#2 Team Authority: Rusev

Rusev came off an impressive win against Big Show at Hell in a Cell which somewhat ended the upper midcard baby faces that he could’ve had as opponents.

The only place left for Rusev to head is up into the main event scene unless WWE keeps him rooted with a United States Title feud against Sheamus. Though it would not be bad to see Rusev challenge Sheamus, the Survivor Series main event would do wonders.

Being in Team Authority would give Rusev that big match feel and he will need this experience to make it to the top if that’s what the company has in plans for him.

#1 Team Cena: Roman Reigns

We all know that Daniel Bryan’s injury is career threatening and he is not likely to return anytime soon. The same hasn’t been said about Reigns which only means that his return is near.

Reigns was one of those stand out performers at last year’s Survivor Series. He was taken out due to injury while running a program with Seth Rollins and Reigns could push right back into that territory by being in Team Cena.

He has the potential to be the last survivor as well and WWE could also build up some tension between Cena and Reigns to give a dream feud that the fans would die for.
