WWE Top 5 Rumors of the Week and Analysis : 26 October, 2014

The WWE universe might be heavily drunk about the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view that is just hours away but there is always time to tune into some wrestling rumors. This week, just like all the other ones, didn’t disappoint. All the speculation hungry fans out there got treated well with a lot of ground being covered by the rumors. Cena’s potential WrestleMania opponent was a big talking point once again and it took an interesting direction.Elsewhere, there were mentions about what all would be booked for Survivor Series as one other pay-per-view looks in danger of being cut from the yearly calendar. So before we embark on a memorable journey at Hell in a Cell, here is a look at this week’s top rumors.

#5 Team Nikki vs. Team Brie for Survivor Series

Though the pay-per-view is still a month away, WWE seems high on making Survivor Series a success. There are plans being made already for the pay-per-view and if the latest rumor materializes, we could see a Team Nikki vs. Team Brie match on the show.

The Bellas have been given a lot of push after Nikki’s heel turn at SummerSlam but have failed to produce the goods so far.

The sisters would face off in a well stipulated match at Hell in a Cell this Sunday. Shaking off such a stipulation for the traditional survivor series match wouldn’t be an easy task.

When it comes to the two teams, don’t expect AJ and Paige to be in the mix as it would be crowded with the Total Divas.

#4 Rusev to face Cena at WrestleMania

After rumors about Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin being Cena’s opponent at next year’s WrestleMania, the latest name added to that list is Rusev.

The Bulgarian Brute has been booked strongly so far and the idea is to drag Hulk Hogan into the mix as well.

Fans know very well about Hogan’s patriotism and the Hall of Famer would recruit Cena to get the job done against Rusev.

On paper, it looks like a great idea for both the superstars but you have to feel bad about Rusev. He will be paired with two legends at the biggest show of the year but the chances of him being over in the end aren’t that high making it an awkward outing for him.

#3 WWE to drop Elimination Chamber pay-per-view

Elimination chamber looks set to be cut from WWE’s long list of gimmick pay-per-views and would be replaced with something that’s got ‘fast’ in the name.

The pay-per-view gave the fans some memorable matches in its rich history as it was a crucial stop in the road to WrestleMania.

There is no news on whether or not the Elimination Chamber match would be dropped but it seems likely since WWE wouldn’t want the title to be defended just before WrestleMania.

Many might see this as a direct effect of Lesnar’s title reign as he wouldn’t feature in a pay-per-view like Elimination chamber. It’s hard to predict how the move might turn out to be but things would be clearer once the New Year turns up.

#2 Mickie James interested in comeback

The WWE divas division received a big boosting rumor this week when former Divas Champion Mickie James expressed her desire to return to the company.

One of the main reasons that led to Mickie’s departure from the company was her music career and she expects to balance both things more effectively if she gets another shot.

Also, the former diva recently had a baby last month and is set to wrestle at the end of November in an independent match which would be important to show the WWE officials that she still got it.

She has been closely associated with the WWE for a long time and even was a guest trainer in NXT. Having Mickie in the main roster amidst names like Paige and AJ Lee would be exciting and hopefully WWE would see through all the shortcomings.

#1 Undertakers retirement might happen at WrestleMania 32

Taker’s appearance in next year’s WrestleMania might be still up in the there but the word around the block suggest that he is interested in having a farewell match at WrestleMania 32.

The Phenom currently is in talks of taking up a trainer role in NXT and looks closer than ever for the same. There is no news on who his opponent would be in 2016 but the break is expected to heal the legend completely.

There are another set of rumors suggesting a Sting vs. Undertaker match at WrestleMania 31 but even if that materialize, Taker would end his career in 2016 due to some unknown reason.

After months and months of uncertainty, it’s good to hear about Taker’s possible interest in returning and WrestleMania 32 is a sure shot success if the match happens.
