WWE Top 5 Rumors of the Week and Analysis : 5 October, 2014

The business is clearly going through a horrible period for Vince McMahon and his promotion as everything they touch is getting messed up to the core.WWE Network was supposed to be a big revelation for the entire professional wrestling business but so far, it has been a curse. This week’s top rumors were rooted mostly around how bad the company’s run at this moment is and some speculations suggest at even worst outcomes.Brock Lesnar’s schedule got featured once again in the top rumors list while Orton made a surprise entry. The only good news for WWE seemed to be a huge return while others pretty much turned out to be on the other side. With all said, here is a look at which all speculations were worth mentioning in the list and how they would affect the company.

#5 Jerichos return date

If the fans thought that they’ve seen the last of Jericho after Night of Champions, well think again.

The former World Champion will be returning sooner than expected as he is advertised for the WWE shows in November.

If the rumors turn out to be true, then this would mean that WWE has more plans for their human highlight reel and he will be back in time for playing a big role in the Survivor Series pay-per-view.

Jericho’s early return would be a big boost for the depleted roster and hopefully WWE would book him in some meaningful feud rather than wasting him in another feud similar to the one that he had with Bray Wyatt during his last spell in the company.

#4 Harper push and Bray Wyatt face turn

Wyatt Family has been to hell and back this year as they went from one of the top stables in the roster to wasted talent. One wrestler in particular that caught the attention of WWE fans was Luke Harper.

With a lot of Indy experience at his aid, Harper was destined to be a big star even without the Wyatt Family and that moment might be here. The cryptic message from Bray hinted the same and Harper could soon end up in the main event scene on his own.

As far as the remaining members of the family are concerned, Bray has some good news. He might be braced for a face run soon after Harper is set free while Rowan’s status is still up in the air.

If WWE manages to find a partner for Rowan, it would be a win- win situation for everyone and the best for business booking for Wyatt Family.

#3 Rusev to win the United States Championship

WWE writers have been pushing the patriotic buttons of the fans ever since Rusev made his main roster debut alongside Lana. The duo has managed to establish their anti-American gimmick big time in the company and has attracted a lot of heat.

The way in which the fans chanted for Big Show while he apologized this week on SmackDown showed how well received Rusev’s character is and the writers are going to take things a step further.

There are plans for putting the United States title on Rusev to deliver the message that Russians are better at holding the championship.

This would give Rusev a win over Sheamus and would be a good direction for the Bulgarian Brute than the usual does of flag feuds.

#2 Randy Orton to turn face before WrestleMania 31

Uneventful would be the apt word to describe Orton’s current heel run. He has been heavily overshadowed by the Authority for the entirety of the run and his championship reign didn’t do any good as well.

And after pushing it too far, WWE might be gearing up to finally pull the plug on Orton’s heel run. There has been a certain amount of heat between Orton and the authority due to the blind backing that has been given to Rollins.

This actually seems to be start of something big for Orton as he would be turning face at the end of this road.

An established face is just what the company wants at this moment as they are short on that category. Orton going up against Hunter would make some compelling storytelling while there is also another possibility of Orton – Lesnar match.

#1 We might not see Lesnar till 2015

The WWE Universe is getting frustrated about the schedule of their champion as Lesnar hasn’t made an appearance after his match at Night of Champions against Cena which got botched up by Seth Rollins.

Last week Paul Heyman made it clear that Lesnar is a bit unhappy about what happened but didn’t tell when the Beast would be back.

And according to the rumors, Lesnar is not scheduled for the rest of the year. This means that he will be missing Hell in a Cell, Survivor Series, TLC and all the shows in between.

The fans will have to wait till Royal Rumble to see their champion again which would be disastrous. WWE should find a way out of the situation if it is true since the importance of the title would be lost by the time Lesnar returns.
