5 Special WWE appearances Roman Reigns could make while undergoing treatment

Could Roman Reigns send Dean Ambrose packing out of WWE?
Could Roman Reigns send Dean Ambrose packing out of WWE?

We all remember the fateful night and perhaps, we'll never forget it. Roman Reigns came out in street clothes and addressed the WWE Universe. He informed the world that he's been battling leukaemia for the last eleven years. And much to his dismay, it had returned again.

From the looks of it, Reigns' treatment is going according to plan. While he has not been seen on WWE since his announcement, he has been active on the sets of 'Hobbs and Shaw', a ' The Fast and the Furious' spinoff film. Prayers and outpourings of support have come in, from fans across the world, ever since his announcement.

One wonders if Roman Reigns could possibly make a special appearance, obviously not in a wrestling capacity, while he undergoes treatment for the dreaded disease. In this article, I've outlined 5 possibilities where he could possibly step into the ring, obviously not to compete but for some other purpose.

Here are some possibilities that I can think of.

#5 Brock Lesnar attacks Reigns in a medical facility

Some may say that Brock Lesnar is Roman Reigns' arch nemesis based on their shared history. After all, Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns have met in the main event of WrestleMania on two occasions. Reigns even beat Lesnar to become the Universal Champion at SummerSlam 2018.

One of the rumours doing the rounds was that Roman Reigns' illness would be one of the key triggers in the feud between Seth Rollins and Brock Lesnar. What if Lesnar were to take this to the next level? What if Lesnar were shown attacking Reigns in a hospital?

This segment could be staged in such a manner that Reigns were laid out on the floor, with Lesnar emerging from the door. Imagine the heel heat that Lesnar would get.

#4 WrestleMania host

And this is yet another way that Roman Reigns can make his presence felt while not competing. Every year there's a WrestleMania host who kickstarts the proceedings at the show. I cannot think of anyone better for this edition than Roman Reigns.

Reigns can come out to a resounding pop and start off the proceedings on the right note. He can assure the WWE Universe that his treatment is going well and promise them that he will return. As many of us know in our hearts, we know that he will be back again someday.

I personally think that having Roman Reigns as the WrestleMania host makes a lot more sense than getting a returning legend because the audience has been dying to hear an update from The Big Dog. This would be one of the all-time classic WrestleMania moments.

#3 Celebrating with Rollins after he defeats Lesnar

It is almost a guarantee that Seth Rollins will be the one to topple The Beast Incarnate. Finn Balor came close but close does not cut it when Brock Lesnar is involved in the title picture.

Maybe Seth Rollins achieves the impossible and we finally see him standing tall in the middle of the ring with his newly won Universal Championship. How does WWE make this moment more special?

Roman Reigns' music hits and he comes out to celebrate his friend's title win and officially pass the torch to him as 'the guy', while Reigns is gone. Reigns and Rollins could wage a few wars of their own if and when Reigns were to come back into the mix again.

Many a tear might flow if the WWE Universe saw the Shield brothers united again.

#2 Sending Dean Ambrose out of the WWE with a Superman punch

Could we potentially see Ambrose vs. Nia Jax at WrestleMania?
Could we potentially see Ambrose vs. Nia Jax at WrestleMania?

We saw the seeds for an inter-gender match sown on RAW this past week. Nia Jax and Dean Ambrose had a faceoff and Jax even got some offence in on Ambrose, sending him out of the ring. What if this little confrontation were the foundation for a full-fledged WrestleMania match?

Let's assume that Nia Jax wins this match clean. And after she does, Dean Ambrose is livid and takes his frustrations out on her. Who better to save the day than one Roman Reigns?

Reigns could come back to make the save and even deliver a Superman punch and a spear if his health permits him. Reigns certainly looks like he's doing quite well from the pictures that have surfaced and I daresay that delivering these two moves may not be difficult for a performer of his stature.

#1 Causing the distraction that helps Rollins defeat the Beast Incarnate

Reigns could lend a hand to help Rollins win the Universal Championship

Yes, I am aware that Seth Rollins is the babyface in this situation. But circumstances may dictate that Rollins needs a helping hand to win. WWE will want to make Brock Lesnar look strong, even in defeat and therefore, WrestleMania could play out in the following manner. Let's assume for a while that Lesnar has taken Rollins to suplex city.

And then when nobody expects it, Roman Reigns appears on the big screen causing the distraction. It allows for Seth Rollins to pick up a tainted win, but a win nevertheless. This could be retribution for Lesnar attacking Reigns in the hospital or something similar.

It creates a talking point that could potentially spill over to RAW the next night. It will also set up the stage for a rematch between Rollins and Lesnar, down the line.

It's a win-win situation for everyone involved.
