WWE News: Total Bellas viewership sees a big drop

Total Bellas has an ensemble cast of the Bella Twins, Daniel Bryan and John Cena

The third episode of the E! channel reality show Total Bellas saw a drop in viewership attracting only 625,000 viewers. This is a steep drop from last week when the second episode garnered 756,000 views and was ranked at number 10 on cable TV.

After the surge in viewership last week, ‘Twin Magic’ could not hold on to the good ratings as Total Bellas fell to the rank of its series premiere. The reality show is just three episodes in and features an amazing cast including the likes of Brie and Nikki Bella accompanied by Daniel Bryan and John Cena.

The Bellas’ mother Kathy and John Lauranitis are also an integral past of the cast. Wednesday’s episode brought in a rating of 0.32 in the 18 – 49 demographic which is about 18% down from last week’s rating of 0.39 in the same demographic. However, the demo rating was still slightly better than that of the premiere that had a 0.30 rating.

But the third instalment lost out to both its previous episodes in terms of viewership as the first episode had also garnered close to 632,000 views.

Earlier, E! news and WWE had reported that Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan were having a baby girl. Both parents were emotional and excited at the prospect of parenting. The couple had tied the knot in 2014 and are expecting their first child in spring next year. Brie also revealed that she would be open to a return to WWE after her pregnancy.

Brie also posted an adorable Instagram photo of the happy couple posing with tiny pink bottles.

Showbuzz Daily ranked Total Bellas at a humble number 28 for the night, among cable originals. It seemed that the third presidential debate had the lion's share as far as viewership was concerned.

The various cable news network coverage and the post-debate analysis accounted for eight of the top ten slots on cable TV for the night. American Horror Story: Roanoke and the NLCS game took the other two slots at number 6 and 4 respectively.

With the debate taking place at 9 PM ET, and Total Bellas airing at 8 PM ET/PT, the reality show was up against the debate in all the non-Eastern time zones, which may well have cut into its numbers.
