WWE Hell in a Cell 2016: 5 Shocking things that could happen at the pay-per-view

Goldberg vs. Lesnar brawl at Hell in a Cell would be great

Hell in a Cell is just around the corner and it has historic significance due to many reasons. The show will host the first ever Hell in a Cell match between female wrestlers in the WWE and not only this, the same match could even headline the pay-per-view as well.

While this itself is a good enough reason to tune into the show, there are some other interesting matches as well. Kevin Owens will defend his WWE Universal championship against Seth Rollins inside the Cell whereas Roman Reigns and Rusev will also square off at the show. Thanks to all these, the 2016 edition of Hell in a Cell looks perfect on paper.

However, WWE could make matters interesting by pulling off some surprises. So here is a look at the shocking things that WWE could do at Hell in a Cell.

#5 Raw vs. SmackDown invasion brawl

Mission: Hype Survivor Series

Though Hell in a Cell is a brand-specific pay-per-view, it falls right before Survivor Series. This makes Hell in a Cell the final pay-per-view stop before the ever-so-important November event. WWE is building up three brand war matches for Survivor Series and building them up in Hell in a Cell would be a good way to create the hype.

The chances of WWE filling these matches with wrestlers by the time of Hell in a Cell are unlikely. But they could create a random invasion angle brawl at the event just to raise the stakes. SmackDown superstars showing up on a Raw event would be a classic segment and will catch the fans by surprise.

#4 Cesaro and Sheamus put an end to the record-breaking run

The giant killers?

A match that is overshadowed by the big matches is the tag team title showdown between The New Day and Sheamus & Cesaro. The dysfunctional team of Sheamus and Cesaro will be going up against the record-breaking champions at the show and a win for these two would shock everyone.

The reason for this is simple: Almost all the legitimate tag teams on the WWE roster have tried to take away the gold from New Day and failed.

And if such a makeshift team successfully does the job, it would make headlines for sure. Such a booking decision would give Cesaro and Sheamus a big push as they will be relevant on a major basis.

#3 Chris Jericho cost Owens the title

Jericho could ruin the plans of Owens

The friendship of Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens has been celebrated by the WWE and its fans. Despite this, everyone is aware of an eventual split in the future. The cracks were projected outside recently and by the time of Hell in a Cell, WWE could completely split these two. At the show, Seth Rollins will face Owens for the title inside a Cell.

While the Cell was placed to avoid interferences in the first place, in the past, WWE has come up with some innovative ways to pull off such storylines. Remember the time when Edge was dressed as a cameraman? Something creative like this could be done at Hell in a Cell to kick start the Owens vs. Jericho feud in a full-fledged manner.

#2 Goldberg and Brock Lesnar square off before Survivor Series

Brand power

As it was pointed out earlier, Hell in a Cell would be the final pay-per-view stop before Survivor Series. And one of the biggest matches at the show would be Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg.

The rumour mill claims that WWE would keep Goldberg and Lesnar away from each other till Survivor Series. But imagine these two brawling at Hell in a Cell.

Not only will it turn Hell in a Cell into a headline maker, but it will also hype the Lesnar vs. Goldberg match on a very high level. This would make more sense rather than let these two big names brawl in a weekly television show.

#1 Moonsault from top of the Cell

The Magical moment

Everyone has their own reasons to be hyped for Hell in a Cell. For a major portion of the fans, it would be the Charlotte vs. Sasha Banks in the main event. Sasha and Charlotte obviously have a lot of pressure on their shoulders to deliver and would be looking to give some special moments for the fans.

One risky move in particular that they could try is a Moonsault off the Cell. Personally, I wouldn’t want to see such a move as it shortens careers. But if they do go forward and do the move, it would be something that everyone will cherish for the years to come.
