As previously reported, WWE Superstar Paige and former WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio are now reportedly engaged. Paige proposed to Del Rio in the middle of the ring during an appearance last night, and Del Rio accepted Paige’s proposal at last night’s WWC Aniversario event in Puerto Rico.
Paige and Del Rio embraced after the proposal and the fans in attendance cheered them on.
Not everybody was cheering that night, however, as Paige’s father (Ricky Knight) took to his official Facebook page to express his disapproval for his daughter’s sudden engagement, stating that he does not want his daughter to marry ‘that man’:
"Putting this out there then saying no more about it to anyone. I am totally against my daughter marrying that man statement over.”
The two have recently been embroiled in problems with the WWE, as Alberto Del Rio left the company after violating the WWE’s Wellness Policy. Del Rio decided to use the out clause in his contract to officially part ways with the company.
Paige soon after would receive her second Wellness Policy violation, however, she would dispute it on her social media page, prompting the WWE to fire back at her in an official statement of their own.
With Paige’s second Wellness Policy Violation, her recent engagement to Del Rio, and her now being removed from the opening video package of Monday Night RAW we must begin to worry about the former WWE Divas Champion’s future with the company.
Paige will certainly have no shortage of work on the independent circuit if she does decide to walk away from the company, although she is under a long-term contract with the WWE, not to mention that her father owns a major wrestling promotion in the WWE.
Earlier this month, Paige and Rio spoke to TMZ sports about future plans in and out of the WWE.
