List of Manchester United transfer targets - Part 2

Nish
Ajax Amsterdam v SC Heerenveen - Eredivisie

Christian Eriksen ( Ajax )

This young talented player knows he’s got a bright future in football, and if he’s going to push further in his career, he has to leave The Netherlands for a club which he openly agreed he wanted to join- Manchester United.

If you look at his style of play, he really is underrated, probably a less expensive option compared to the other midfielders available in the transfer market. He basically won the Eredivise for Ajax last season, and with that kind of talent, you can expect United scouts to be tracking him down.

He really didn’t make an impact during the UEFA Euro 2012, but the improvements he made after that, he might just be as good as Neymar. If United need an impact player, with loads of flair and eye for goal, Eriksen’s their man.

Chances of it happening- 6/10 : He’s openly said he wants to join Manchester United, but with clubs like Borussia Dortmund and PSG keeping an eye on him, he might just give in to the money aspect.

Price - £20m sounds right given that he would agree to a United contract, but again, other clubs are tailing him.

Bayern Muenchen v Real Madrid - Beckenbauer Farewell Match

Ezequiel Garay

From playing only a few matches with Real Madrid to reaching scintillating form in Benfica and guaranting his place at Argentina’s backline, Ezequiel Garay has made remarkable changes to his play in general.

If United sign this talented Argentine, they would not only secure the impending retirement of Rio Ferdinand, but also have gained a defender with amazing aerial control, handy freekick and an intelligent set-piece man, some qualities which United’s backline currently lacks. All in all, he’d be a great signing for United

Chances of it happening- 9/10 : According to reports, Benfica and United have already reached an agreement for Garay, and it has been going on for quite some time, so why not?

Price- £17m is the price quoted by Benfica, but given that there’s no guarantee he’ll fit into England, it’s a bit too much. And he’s 26-years-old, so that’s quite a lot for him.

Fabio Coentrao ( Real Madrid )

He was bought for €30m from Benfica, which is really too much for the things he’s accomplished with Madrid because they already have an agile and acrobatic left back in Marcelo, so what role does he have to play, if Marcelo fits in to Madrid’s style of play.

His speedy, pacy and controlled style would fit perfectly in England, and Manchester United, who are currently searching for a successor to Patrice Evra.

Chances of it happening- 5/10: He was bought for €30m and his value has gone down to about €15m now? Madrid, however rich they are, will not like to witness such a great loss.

Price- £15m would be about right, because he is quite young (25) and is very versatile.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen v Hannover 96 - Bundesliga

Lars Bender (Bayer Leverkusen )

The equally brilliant twin brother of Sven Bender who plays for rivals Borussia Dortmund, can function as an emergency defender or even a central midfielder. These are qualities that are attractive to the United scouting staff. He is only 24, which means he can be a long term replacement for Michael Carrick.

Chances of it happening- 4/10: Leverkusen have already lost Schürrle to chelsea, which leaves a big enough hole in their midfield, so I don’t think they want to sell this talented midfielder

Price- £15m, all his attributes and skills add up to about this much.
