AEW TV specials are no less than its pay-per-views. Last week, Tony Khan gave fans a four-hour show, consisting of back-to-back special episodes of Dynamite and Collision. Interestingly, he is going to do the same tonight. AEW Summer Blockbuster 2025 has the potential to be a historic show.

Seven matches have been announced for the four-hour event:

  • Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford vs. TayJay (Tay Melo and Anna Jay) - Tag team match
  • Will Ospreay vs. Swerve Strickland
  • Thekla vs. Queen Aminata
  • The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, and MJF) (with MVP) vs. "Speedball" Mike Bailey, Komander, and Kevin Knight - Trios match
  • Místico vs. TBD
  • Kyle Fletcher vs. Anthony Bowens
  • "Timeless" Toni Storm vs. Julia Hart

Storylines in the above lineup are complicated. At Summer Blockbuster, alliances could break due to shocking betrayals. Tony Khan might have something unexpected in store for fans, and the company's trajectory could change forever.

Here are three potential betrayals that may take place at AEW Summer Blockbuster:

#3. Anna Jay may betray Tay Melo

Both Anna Jay and Tay Melo have immense potential. Their alliance is known as TayJay, and fans adore them. Although neither has won titles in the promotion, Tony Khan books them well. Melo's last match in the company took place back in January 2023, when she and Jay locked horns with Ruby Soho and Willow Nightingale in a Street Fight.

She made her anticipated return from hiatus last week and saved her tag team partner from Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford. TayJay is scheduled to battle Bayne and Ford later tonight. Interestingly, there is a chance Jay may betray the Brazilian star and join forces with the heels. This betrayal would be shocking and unexpected, making the former Taynara Conti a believable babyface and Jay in a rare villainous role.

#2. MJF may abandon The Hurt Syndicate

MJF's addition to The Hurt Syndicate has been entertaining so far. He moved mountains to join the faction, and when MVP, Shelton Benjamin, and Bobby Lashley finally welcomed him, fans worldwide felt fulfilled. However, Maxwell Jacob Friedman has a history of treachery.

At AEW Summer Blockbuster, Friedman might shockingly abandon the faction. He could simply not show up at the venue because he desired a break. The Salt of the Earth has the capability to do this. If this results in the group getting defeated by "Speedball" Mike Bailey, Komander, and Kevin Knight, things could get bad for the former AEW World Champion.

#1. Will Ospreay might betray AEW

Will Ospreay is undoubtedly one of All Elite Wrestling's biggest babyfaces. He could have gone on to face Jon Moxley for the AEW World Title at All In: Texas had he defeated ''Hangman'' Adam Page in the finals of the Men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

Regardless, The Aerial Assassin is hell-bent on ending Moxley's reign of terror. He is currently in a captivating storyline with Swerve Strickland and Page, but what if everything is a ruse? Tony Khan may pull the trigger on Ospreay's shocking heel turn tonight. The former International Champion may brutally attack The New Flavor after a potential defeat in their scheduled singles match, eventually turning his back on AEW fans and joining forces with The Death Riders.
