Tay Melo made a shocking return to television on last week's AEW Fyter Fest special. The 29-year-old had been absent for two years, and she's now being called back home due to a family emergency.

Melo is married to fellow AEW star Sammy Guevara, and the two have a young daughter named Luna. The Brazilian star has been taking care of little Luna throughout her hiatus while The Spanish God continued to perform in Tony Khan's promotions.

Now, it seems their daughter has a fever, and her condition has worsened. Tay Melo took to X/Twitter earlier with a notification that she would not be able to make it for the appearance she was scheduled for today. Fans have since piled in with prayers and well wishes for the family.

Tay Melo scheduled for first AEW match in over two years

While Tay Melo has wrestled a few times since her AEW hiatus began, she hasn't competed in her home promotion since January 11, 2023. That is set to change this coming Wednesday.

The 29-year-old returned to TV at last week's Fyter Fest to save her old partner, Anna Jay, from Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford. Shortly after, AEW President Tony Khan revealed that the two would team up again to take on Bayne and Ford at this week's Summer Blockbuster special:

"#AEWSummerBlockbuster, 8pm ET/7pm CT This Wed, 6/11 @meganbayne /@thePenelopeFord vs TayJay. After @TayMelo returned to save @annajay__from her nemeses Megan and Penelope, Bayne + Ford will fight vs Tay + Anna, teaming as TayJay for the first time in over 2 years THIS WEDNESDAY!" Tony Khan wrote on X.

With Luna's current situation at home, it's unclear whether Melo will be able to make it to the show, but fans are hoping to see her back in the ring soon. We at Sportskeeda Wrestling wish Tay and Luna well and hope the baby's fever subsides soon.
